Duties and Responsibilities:
\nLegal Services, community engagement, social responsiveness<\/p>\n
\tManage all matters from time of consultation until such time as a matter is litigated, closed or referred.
\n\tConsult with clients and offer legal advice and guidance to clients.
\n\tDraft pleadings and correspondences.
\n\tResearch the law and draft legal opinions.
\n\tMaintain relationships with clients and keep them updated on their matters.
\n\tAttend to court matters including appearances in court.
\n\tRemain abreast of developments in the legal and policy environments.
\n\tIndexing and Pagination of court files.
\n\tPreparation for court.
\n\tGeneral admin (office and court) including follow up calls, reminders of consults, filing and serving etc.
\n\tEngaging with law students (as part of their clinical law experience);
\n\tAssist the Supervising Attorney with the monitoring of students performing work integrated learning in the Law Clinic.
\n\tAttending community workshops and Advice Desks.
\n\tDraft registers and reports for Advice Desks
\n\tPrepare posters for marketing purposes and to advertise for Advice Desks.
\n\tDraft registers for Advice Desks to keep a record of each client\/matter.
\n\tAssist with student feedback and correction of tasks.
\n\tAttend events hosted by the School of Law e.g. the Law Careers Fair.
\n\tAttend events hosted by the Law Clinic.
\n\tEngage with the Juridical Society.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualification Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of a\u00a0law degree (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
