Qualifying Criteria:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications
\n\tRecognized Blasting Certificate holder.
\n\tA Shift Supervisor Certificate will be advantageous.
\n\tBoth conventional and trackless mining experience will be advantageous.
\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 previous experience as a safety officer, having worked in an underground trackless environment, will be advantageous
\n\tComputer literacy (MS packages with emphasis on Excel)
\n\tThe candidate must possess strong report-writing skills.
\n\tMust be in a position of COMSOC I & II
\n\tKnowledge and practical experience in SHE system implementation and auditing
\n\tKnowledge of relevant legislation, mine standards, and procedures (ISO 45001)
\n\tKnowledge of Investigation and auditing systems
\n\tKnowledge of risk assessments and risk management
\n\tProficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
\n\tMust have a valid driver’s license.
\n\tSouth African Citizenship
\n\tClear Criminal Record<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCandidate must be self-driven and disciplined.
\n\tConduct Health and Safety Audits in the workplace and give remedial actions where required.
\n\tIdentify, analyse, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices.
\n\tParticipate in the development of hazard control programmes.
\n\tMeasure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control programmes.
\n\tAnalyse incidents and no-conformances to identify deficiencies and contributing factors in the SHE management.
\n\tFacilitate investigations.
\n\tFacilitate and participate in SHE meetings.
\n\tCommunicate and distribute standards and procedures to relevant stakeholders.
\n\tPerform all Heath and Safety related duties in general on the mine as per Gold One Group Limited standards.
\n\tAdhere to MHSA standards & Gold1\u2019s safety motto: \u201cNothing is so important that it cannot be done safely\u201d.
