Purpose of the Job:<\/p>\n
\tTo maintain plant equipment in good operational condition to ensure-
\n\t98 % plant availability,
\n\tthat line rates are met,\u00a0
\n\tthat equipment function at the required standards to meet product quality standards and to minimize waste<\/p>\n
Job Accountabilities:<\/p>\n
\tInspect machines for faults and report on and repair faulty conditions.
\n\tComplete maintenance schedules and inspections on services plant
\n\tRemove and install equipment where and when required.
\n\tOverhaul machines by stripping, examining, replacing and repairing faulty parts, then reassemble and replace overhauled machines
\n\tInform supervisor of potential failures and carry out repairs
\n\tAssist supervisor in maintaining equipment and machinery in a safe and operational condition according to McCain Loss Control and Maintenance<\/p>\n
Policies<\/p>\n
\tMaintain and service all equipment to ensure maximum availability.
\n\tEnsure plant availability is kept up to the standard of 97%
\n\tPerform any other related tasks which may be designated to incumbent
\n\tList all materials required and forward list for ordering.
\n\tAssist in repositioning of equipment i.e. lengthening or shortening of electrical cables, reposition cables and switchboards
\n\tConnect and disconnect electrical systems where and when necessary
\n\tEnsure electrical distribution panel is locked after completion of any work and prior to leave site
\n\tParts needed follow up and installations
\n\tPerform shift work.
\n\tPerform shut down work when required.
\n\tResponsible for dedicated areas in plant
\n\tMove and install machines as required
\n\tFabricate and install chutes, wipers scrapers etc to ensure proper product flow
\n\tand minimize product spillage
\n\tAlter machines to improve performance and limit downtime
\n\tCommission new electrical installations or alterations ensuring that it is operational and may be used safely
\n\tDiagnose the cause of breakdown
\n\tRepair faults on site
\n\tReplace faulty machinery where applicable and take machinery to workshop for repairs and overhauls where necessary.
\n\tAttend to electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
\n\tFollow up on breakdowns to ensure completion.<\/p>\n
Safety: Work to McCain Safety and Food Safety requirements<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that equipment is in a safe and operational condition according to McCain Safety and Food Safety requirements, – AIB and HACCP as well as<\/p>\n
Key Elements of Safety.<\/p>\n
\tWork according to and practice 5S Principles.
\n\tWork according to OHACT and other applicable Acts.<\/p>\n
Cost: Draw and record spares and breakdown details through SAP.<\/p>\n
\tIdentify, update and review critical spares requirements and report to the relevant Superintendent.<\/p>\n
Cost: Implement cost reduction \/ efficiency measures on all resources – water, electricity, steam and air.<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in MDI Process.
\n\tIdentify opportunities for cost reduction, make proposals and implement approved improvements.<\/p>\n
Job Holder Requirements<\/p>\n
\tSchool: Gr 12 and N3 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0
\n\tCertificates: Valid Trade Test Certificate (Millwright)
\n\tWillingness to work shifts (night) and overtime as per operational requirements.
\n\tPrevious experience in an FMCG environment for at least 5 years. Experience in the Food Industry would be advantageous.<\/p>\n
