\tProject management and coordination of research on a national level.
\n\tActively sources new national research opportunities and writes proposals.
\n\tIdentifies the need for resources (human capital, equipment and materials) in project(s) and manages them accordingly.
\n\tHuman Capacity Development that includes outputs of mentoring and developing others (internal staff) and developing self.
\n\tConducts research in Plant Breeding, with a focus on legume crops.
\n\tAcquire, utilise, and maintain germplasms, and develop elite breeding lines.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tPhD in Plant Breeding, or related disciplines.
\n\tAt least three years\u2019 research experience related to plant breeding, post master\u2019s level.
\n\tExperience in classical plant breeding techniques.
\n\tExperience in molecular plant breeding techniques will be an added advantage.
\n\tAuthored or co-authored a minimum of two peer reviewed publications relevant to the position.
\n\tExcellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills, with an ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
\n\tA valid driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n
