\tA vacancy exists for a Lecturer (Nurse Educator) reporting to the AHC Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs that prepare nursing students and professionals for clinical practice.<\/p>\n
Critical Outputs<\/p>\n
Theory:<\/p>\n
\tCompiling of lesson plans
\n\tSetting tests, assignments, workbooks, and examinations (according to Bloom’s taxonomy)
\n\tMarking and moderating of tests and exams
\n\tDesign or assist with short courses
\n\tPresent short courses to the clinical facilities of Africa Health Care as part of in-service training<\/p>\n
Clinical Teaching:<\/p>\n
\tDesign evaluation tools for clinical procedures
\n\tCompiling of lesson plans for clinical teaching
\n\tDemonstrate procedures
\n\tClinical accompaniment in the simulation laboratory and in the accredited clinical facilities
\n\tAssess students for clinical competency
\n\tModerate clinical assessments
\n\tAdministrative Responsibilities:
\n\tProficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
\n\tAssist with registration and completion of students with SANC
\n\tRecord all student activities: class attendance, marks, consultations, clinical hours(timesheets)
\n\tAssist with designing the current curricula or changing the current curricula
\n\tWillingness to travel to other provinces and clinical facilities
\n\tWillingness to do overtime<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tRegistered Nurse with SANC
\n\tBasic Qualification (i.e. Diploma\/Degree) in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration as a Professional Nurse
\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree in nursing or a qualification higher
\n\tPost basic qualification (i.e. Diploma\/Degree) in Nursing Education.
\n\tPost-basic qualification in Critical Care Nursing
\n\tPost basic qualification (i.e. Diploma\/Degree) in Nursing Administration\/Management.
\n\tMinimum of 3 (three) years appropriate\/recognised nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse
\n\tAt least a period of 3 (three) years of appropriate experience in Nursing Education after obtaining a post-basic qualification
\n\tProof of registration with SANC for Assessor and Moderator
\n\tBLS instructor certificate is an advantage
\n\tExperience in mentoring a specific group of students
\n\tKnowledge of all relevant legislation pertaining to the management of a Nursing Education Institution
\n\tA valid driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n
