The key performance areas of the M&E Officer role are:<\/p>\n
\tContribute to the design and continuous improvement of M&E frameworks, tools, policies, and data systems in collaboration with internal teams and IT providers.
\n\tOversee accurate and timely data submission from implementing partners, manage data systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure effective data cleaning and validation processes.
\n\tTroubleshoot and resolve system-related issues; act as primary liaison with IT service providers.
\n\tConduct regular data quality assessments, including on-site verification visits. Identify and correct data discrepancies, support IPs in preparation for audits, and promote data integrity across all systems.
\n\tTrain and mentor implementing partners and staff on M&E practices, tools, and protocols. Serve as a key resource for troubleshooting and system support.
\n\tPerform basic data analysis, support data-driven decision-making, and contribute to internal and external reporting through data summaries, presentations, and publications.
\n\tSupport staff development, performance management, and a values-driven, high-performance culture within the team (where relevant).
\n\tCarry out special projects and stand in for colleagues or supervisors as needed.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications and Experience\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Social Science, Public Health, or related field
\n\tSAMEA membership (advantageous, not essential)
\n\tMinimum 3 years’ experience in a Monitoring & Evaluation role
\n\tExperience in monitoring, verifying, and promoting data quality in health\/social development programmes
\n\tProven ability to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic data management systems (e.g., DHIS2, Salesforce, CommCare, custom-built systems)\u00a0
\n\tProven experience with data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI)
\n\tDemonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments
\n\tExperience in capacity development of field staff and stakeholder coordination
\n\tProficiency in English and one other South African language (African language advantageous)
\n\tExperience with data management systems and MS Office suite, especially Excel
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license and willingness to travel for onsite verifications.\u00a0<\/p>\n
