\tA Shunter organises trains in order to safely manoeuvre from the exchange yard to loading and off-loading points at various business units<\/p>\n
Key Accountabilities<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to Principles of safe movement on rail
\n\tApply Basic Health and Safety knowledge
\n\tInsure plant specific rules and procedures
\n\tKnow the Site lay-out
\n\tApply Shunting procedures
\n\tDisplay of hand signals
\n\tUtilize Rail way vehicles and Rail way lines
\n\tOperates Hand points
\n\tAssist with Air brake and vacuum test
\n\tDo inspection of Loads
\n\tReading of special notices
\n\tOperation of handbrakes
\n\tTest 2-Way Radio communication (Testing of two way radios)
\n\tCoupling and uncoupling of vehicles
\n\tIdentify rolling stock types by means of profile codes
\n\tIdentify commodity types by means of symbolic signs\/data sheets\/color coding
\n\tFormulate train profile
\n\tExecute movements in accordance with designated plan and within the required operational time<\/p>\n
Formal Education<\/p>\n
\tHigh School \/ School Diploma or similar<\/p>\n
Working Experience<\/p>\n
\tExperience: 2+ relevant years<\/p>\n
