Purpose of the role:<\/p>\n
\tIvanhoe Marketing is a newly established commodity marketing, sales and logistics entity within the Ivanhoe Group of Companies.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This role is responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tMaster data management
\n\tTreasury
\n\tAccounts payable
\n\tSales and purchases of inventory<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Master data management<\/p>\n
\tAssist with the accurate development and maintenance of the accounting and banking master data by performing the following tasks:
\n\tLiaise with the new vendors to perform KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures
\n\tInspect the KYC information received from the new vendor for incomplete information or information that represents potential threats
\n\tProvide the Financial Manager with the completed KYC form signed off by the vendor so that the vendor can be raised in the accounting system
\n\tPerform bank confirmation procedures for all new beneficiaries
\n\tAccurately capture the beneficiary details on the banking platform
\n\tProvide a completed master data pack to the Head of Finance and Commercial for review and sign off<\/p>\n
Treasury<\/p>\n
\tPreparation of bank payments ensuring payments are accurate, timeous, within contractual terms and all necessary documentation is provided to the bank to process the payment
\n\tLiaison with the bank to resolve issues
\n\tPreparing supplier remittances
\n\tProviding suppliers with remittances and proof of payments
\n\tProcess bank related journal entries (including payments, receipts, bank charges, interest earned on bank account)
\n\tWeekly reconciliation of the bank statement to the general ledger and timeous resolution of all issues identified
\n\tAssist the financial accountant with Bi- monthly cashflow forecasting<\/p>\n
Accounts payable<\/p>\n
\tAccurate capturing of expense purchase orders in the accounting system
\n\tProcessing invoices in the accounting system
\n\tCapturing cashbook entries in the accounting system
\n\tPerforming monthly creditors reconciliations
\n\tVerifying discrepancies and resolving outstanding invoice \/ payment issues<\/p>\n
Sales and purchases of inventory<\/p>\n
\tAssist the Commercial Accountant with analysing large sets of sales and logistics data in the operational system and performing data validation checks
\n\tAssist the Commercial Accountant with analysing large sets of purchase data in the operational system and performing data validation checks<\/p>\n
General
\nRespond to all audit requests promptly<\/p>\n
\tPayments on an ad-hoc basis
\n\tBackfill for other Financial Clerks in the team
\n\tAdministrative tasks<\/p>\n
Experience required:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or similar role
\n\tProficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
\n\tExperience in ERP systems, with JDE experience considered advantageous
\n\tHigher certificate or Diploma specialising in Accounting or Finance.<\/p>\n
