\n\tMaintenance of electricity distribution networks
\n\tMaintenance of streetlights
\n\tThird party contracting: Metering etc.<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tA relevant BEng or BSc (Eng) or BTech engineering degree and eligibility for registration as Pr Eng;(NQF Level 7)
\n\tPlus, a GCC or Pr Cert Eng
\n\tComputer Literacy: MS Office
\n\t5-8 years or more relevant experience<\/p>\n

\tCode B Driver’s license
\n\tProficiency in at least 2 of the official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans\/English\/isiXhosa -read, write & speak
\n\tGood management, supervision, human relations,interpersonal and communication skills
\n\tAbility to give attention to detail
\n\tHigh level of responsibility
\n\tAbility to work under pressure
\n\tAbility to deal with conflict situations
\n\tMust be physically fit and able bodied
\n\tMust perform standby duties

\n\tCompetency levels as prescribed in Government Gazette 29967 dated 15 June 2007 as amended (or attainment of the minimum competencies within a period of 18 months from date of appointment)<\/p>\n
Functions:<\/p>\n
\tStrategically visualize, plan, manage, organize,analyse and control the continuous provision of electro-technical and support services to promote service excellence to the municipality and\/ or its community
\n\tParticipate, apply and control financial management processes to ensure and promote sound financial management practices and procedures
\n\tParticipate and contribute in the corporate performance management system (PMS), to ensure that the Department performs up to standards and expectations
\n\tParticipate and contribute in the municipality’s IDP processes to ensure alignment of the department’s KPl’s and the needs of the community
\n\tEnsure consistent compliance with national, provincial and municipal legislation as well as municipal policies applicable to or affecting the department\/ service delivery
\n\tManage and exercise control over employees\u00a0
\n\tassigned to the department to promote a culture of proper service delivery
\n\tParticipate in the corporate risk management process to minimize\/ avoid risks within the Department
\n\tManaging electro-technical related service delivery activities undertaken by or on behalf of the department including electricity supply, street lighting and electrical pump maintenance to promote proper service delivery
\n\tInformation and knowledge management
\n\tAsset management
\n\tProgram and project management
\n\tEnsure functional fleet
\n\tCommunication and civic engagement
\n\tCustomer relations management
\n\tAct as Director Infrastructure Services in his\/ her absence on a rotation basis and discharge the responsibilities assigned to the post for the duration of the acting
\n\tAny other related duty as requested by the Director\/Municipal Manager<\/p>\n
