MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tMatric certificate \/ equivalent
\n\tDiploma \/ Degree in Health and Safety Management
\n\tBlasting certificate or Valid Trade Test
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license
\n\tCOMSOC 01 & COMSOC 02 or equivalent
\n\tComputer literate (Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS<\/p>\n
\t3 years\u2019 experience in an underground Mining Environment
\n\t3 years\u2019 experience in operational safety Management systems and ISO requirements
\n\tExperience in Raiseboring operations
\n\tKnowledge of industry and related legislation and standards
\n\tEmergency preparedness and response management knowledge and experience in the Mining Sector
\n\tEffective Team Player and Effective Self-Management<\/p>\n
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\tPerform roles and responsibilities of the Safety Officer as depicted in the MHSA regulation
\n\tConduct Safety inspections
\n\tInvestigate incidents & accidents
\n\tMaintain procedures for the operation in specific areas of responsibility, ensure adherence to Group Standards and Legal Requirements
\n\tCommunicate Health and Safety Awareness and Campaigns and on the job coaching of legislative and procedural requirements
\n\tAttend meetings with the OHS Manager to give feedback and receive instructions to improve safety performance in area of responsibility
\n\tAssist the OHS Manager with information gathering related to mandatory reports
\n\tAssist HODs and lead internal incident\/accident investigations
\n\tParticipate in 2nd and 3rd party health and safety audits in areas of responsibility
\n\tEstablish and maintain good working relationships and an effective communication system with the SHEQT Function
\n\tManage and report on non-compliance issues<\/p>\n
