Responsible for maintaining some of UJ\u2019s Calculation Criteria data: SSTUDE-2. Supervising exam timetable functions of the Department for all campuses. CELCAT Exam Scheduler Expert and Administrator.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nResponsibilities:<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSupport good governance of the UJ exam timetables for effective (optimised) exams (final assessments):\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tMaintain, optimise and publish the Master Exam Timetable (ETT) for all main assessments (June &amp; November).<br \/>\n\tCoordinate the annual update and distribution of the UJ Assessments and Exams master files.<br \/>\n\tAssign examination venues fairly and efficiently using CELCAT Exam Scheduler across all campuses.<br \/>\n\tEvery three years, regenerate the University\u2019s main undergraduate exam timetable from a zero-base.<\/p>\n<p>Risk Mitigation &amp; Quality Assurance:<\/p>\n<p>\tValidate and implement approved timetable calculation criteria annually.<br \/>\n\tEnsure consistency across all timetable-related systems and records.<br \/>\n\tImplement University-approved timetable changes, storing relevant audit trails.<\/p>\n<p>CELCAT Exam Scheduler Administration:<\/p>\n<p>\tAct as the CELCAT Exam Scheduler expert and administrator.<br \/>\n\tTest software updates and interface functionality (ITS INT 4 system).<br \/>\n\tLiaise with internal and external stakeholders for process optimisation.<\/p>\n<p>Ad Hoc Venue Booking Coordination:<\/p>\n<p>\tCollaborate to integrate and lock venue data across all campuses for smooth ad hoc bookings.<br \/>\n\tPrepare templates for registration and special exam bookings annually.<\/p>\n<p>Timetable Publication &amp; Communication\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tCoordinate timely publication and communication of exam timetables and venue allocations.<br \/>\n\tEnsure all stakeholder feedback and changes are implemented and documented.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum requirements<\/p>\n<p>\tA Degree or relevant (NQF 7) qualification in \u00a0(IT\/Computer Sci\/Mathematics\/Statistics-related study fields preferred).<br \/>\n\tFive (5) years of experience in timetabling and timetable optimisation at a tertiary education institution, with a minimum of two (2) years\u2019 experience in a supervising position.<br \/>\n\tExtensive knowledge of and a minimum of three (3) years\u2019 experience in the use of the examination timetable subsystem of the ITS Integrator 4 Student Management System supplied by Adapt IT.<br \/>\n\tExtensive knowledge of and at least three (3) years\u2019 experience in the use of timetable scheduling\/optimisation software, such as CELCAT, or Syllabus Plus, or a similar system.<br \/>\n\tAdvanced Level MS Excel skills.<br \/>\n\tExtensive experience in the use of the MS Office Suite.<br \/>\n\tIn-depth knowledge of UJ Policies and Procedures pertaining to timetables and venue bookings.<\/p>\n<p>Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:<\/p>\n<p>\tExcellent problem-solving skills via logical analytical thinking.<br \/>\n\tThe ability to consistently work accurately under pressure \u2013 with excellent attention to detail.<br \/>\n\tGood to advanced numerical skills.<br \/>\n\tVery good verbal and written communication skills.<br \/>\n\tExcellent planning and organising skills, including staff- and time management.<br \/>\n\tGood administrative skills.<\/p>\n<p>Recommendations:<\/p>\n<p>\t\u00a0A Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant field.<br \/>\n\t\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>go to method of application \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( http:\/\/www.uj.ac.za ) or<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"","_company_name":"University of Johannesburg","_company_website":"http:\/\/www.uj.ac.za","_company_tagline":"Vibrant, multicultural and dynamic, the University of Johannesburg (UJ) shares the pace and energy of cosmopolitan Johannesburg, the city whose name it carries.
