JOB REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 combined with a relevant National Diploma qualification.
\n\t5 years technical experience in the Instrumentation field.
\n\tExperience in automated process control systems, PLC software, SCADA and variable HT\/LT speed drives is essential.
\n\tComputer literate
\n\tA valid Code B driver\u2018s license and the ability to pass Rand Water\u2019s K53 test.
\n\tProof of relevant prior learning through Rand Water\u2019s Development Programmes or their equivalent elsewhere will be an advantage.<\/p>\n
Primary Duties<\/p>\n
\tThe incumbent will ensure availability of an effective plant and continuous water supply to customers.<\/p>\n
The critical functions will include:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure plant availability and reliability.
\n\tMaintain automated control systems, analytical instruments, PLC, fault finding, programming, SCADA and variable speed drives.
\n\tPerform scheduled and periodic inspections, process analysis and assist in the maintenance of water quality.
\n\tConduct and monitor project work.
\n\tProvide training and mentoring of staff.<\/p>\n

In 1904 Rand Water was required to take over the undertakings of the companies at that time supplying or potentially capable of supplying water to the Witwatersrand. Rand Water was to supply water in bulk only. Water Supply 1905 It was only in 1905 that Rand Water commenced with full operations. By 1906 the annual daily consumption of water supplied by Rand Water was about 11 Ml\/d and it has been growing ever since.
