JOB OVERVIEW:<\/p>\n
\tAn experienced and highly motivated Soft Services Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of cleaning, hygiene, landscaping, pest control, and parking management services for the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (dtic).
\n\tThe ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that BSS, as a subcontractor to Broll, consistently provides a clean, safe, and well-maintained working environment for employees and visitors. They will work closely with various departments, including HR, IT, and Facilities Management, to deliver exceptional service while adhering to budget constraints and regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for cleaning, hygiene, pest control, landscaping, and parking management services.
\n\tOversee the daily operations of soft services staff, including cleaners, janitors, pest control technicians, landscapers, and parking attendants.
\n\tManage contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with clients, external vendors, and suppliers for cleaning, hygiene, pest control, landscaping, and parking management services.
\n\tEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry best practices.
\n\tEstablish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of soft services operations.
\n\tConduct regular audits and inspections to assess the quality of services and identify areas for improvement.
\n\tDevelop, manage, and assist with budgets for cleaning, hygiene, pest control, landscaping, and parking management services.
\n\tIdentify and implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
\n\tProvide training, guidance, and support to soft services staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks effectively.
\n\tAddress concerns, complaints, or feedback from clients related to soft services, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and positive experiences.
\n\tCoordinate with Facilities Management counterparts to ensure smooth operations and integration of soft services with other facility functions.
\n\tCollaborate with HR and IT departments to address any personnel or technology-related issues affecting soft services.
\n\tManage inventory and procurement of cleaning supplies, pest control materials, landscaping equipment, and parking management tools.
\n\tPrepare reports and updates on the performance and effectiveness of soft services operations for senior management or other stakeholders.
\n\tImplement and maintain sustainable practices and environmental stewardship in all soft services operations.
\n\tStay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in the fields of cleaning, hygiene, pest control, landscaping, and parking management.
\n\tDevelop and maintain positive relationships with clients, external vendors, suppliers, and partners.
\n\tCoordinate and manage special projects, such as facility renovations, upgrades, or expansions, as needed.
\n\tParticipate in emergency preparedness and response planning for the organization.
\n\tPerform other duties as assigned by management or as required by the needs of the organization.<\/p>\n
\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
\tMatric & a minimum of 5 years of experience in soft services operations, supervision, or management.
\n\tProven experience in managing cleaning, hygiene, pest control, landscaping, and parking management services.
\n\tStrong knowledge of health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry best practices.
\n\tExcellent leadership and people management skills.
\n\tStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
\n\tExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
\n\tBudgeting and financial management experience, including cost control and analysis.
\n\tExperience in contract management and negotiation.
\n\tKnowledge of sustainable practices and environmental stewardship in facility management.
\n\tProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
\n\tAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines.
\n\tExperience in managing operations across multiple facilities is preferred.
\n\tCertifications or specialized training in areas such as health and safety, environmental management, or contract management are highly desirable.
\n\tA valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between facilities as needed.<\/p>\n
