Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tCompetent with the use of hand tools.
\n\tGood spatial recognition.
\n\tTechnically strong and follows mechanical repair, and construction standards and methods as specified in technical studies and as required in Trade Test.<\/p>\n
Basic rigging.<\/p>\n
\tFault finding and problem-solving skills.
\n\tApplies knowledge obtained during training to all tasks.
\n\tCan assess the safety risks associated with the work to be done.<\/p>\n
Safety and Housekeeping<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with the requirements of Safety, Health and Environmental Standards and Procedures.
\n\tMaintain a clean, tidy, and safe work environment, free of any spillages or obstacles.
\n\tMonitor and adhere to Safal Steel maintenance standards, working manuals, working instructions and procedures.
\n\tEnsure all areas of work are kept clean during and after work has been completed.<\/p>\n
Equipment operation and maintenance<\/p>\n
\tPerform tasks pertaining to routine, planned, and breakdown fabrication work.
\n\tConduct planning for tasks. This relates to day plans as well as weekly plans.
\n\tPerform repairs, replacements, or modifications tasks on plant and equipment as instructed.
\n\tConduct training and coaching of Artisan Aids.
\n\tAssist in activities according to instruction of the Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Technician or Mechanical Foreman.
\n\tUse tools and equipment provided to ensure the completion of any task.
\n\tFollow all maintenance related processes and procedures and actively participate in any set maintenance program.<\/p>\n
Report on maintenance activities as required.<\/p>\n
\tCheck equipment on a regular basis and report observed defects and deviations from the standard maintenance parameters and requirements to the Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Technician or Mechanical Foreman.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Main purpose of the position:<\/p>\n
\tConducting various maintenance, repairs, and modifications in accordance to the company standards and with the aim of improving equipment availability, efficiencies, and sustainability.
\n\tGrade 12, with Maths & Science \/N3 \/NQF4 National Diploma (Mechanical)
\n\tMinimum of five (5) years\u2019 experience as a Boilermaker desired.<\/p>\n
