\tTo adopt a holistic view to students in their care, promoting the general progress and well-being of individuals and of any class or group assigned to them.\u00a0To create a positive learning environment and motivate students to achieve their full potential.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
\tLead individual and group counselling sessions.
\n\tCollaborate with the student support and senior leadership teams to develop a\u00a0care-full environment wherein all students feel safe and listened to.
\n\tProfessionally record and report on meeting outcomes.
\n\tAssist with the management and application of student IEB Accommodations.
\n\tIn so far as communicating trends and research, to contribute to the continuous professional development of our teaching team.
\n\tSupport the teaching of Life Orientation.
\n\tServe the community.
\n\tBehave in a professional manner with regard to punctuality, behaviour, and standards of work.
\n\tConsistently evaluate, reflect on and refine counselling practice.
\n\tContinuously seek professional development.
\n\tRespond to e-mails and telephone messages within 24 hours.
\n\tAttend all occasions appropriate to the position.
\n\tUndertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head \/ Deputy Head of Student Support fairly determine.<\/p>\n

\n\tConfidence with use of ICT in recording session notes
\n\tA minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in a counselling role, preferably with children
\n\tAppropriate legal right to work in a South African school
\n\tAppropriate professional qualification and accreditation (for example, with the HPCSA) SACE accreditation (preferred)<\/p>\n
