About the Role<\/p>\n
\tSeeking a highly skilled and motivated Solar Technician with at least 5 years of experience in solar and battery system installation. This role combines hands-on technical work with managerial responsibilities, including overseeing store operations, leading teams, and engaging with government and international stakeholders. The successful candidate will report directly to the Electrical Supervisor and play a key role in delivering renewable energy projects across Vanuatu and beyond.
\n\tAs a site-based role, the position demands exceptional organizational skills, technical expertise, and attention to detail. You will represent the company on project sites, prioritizing clear communication and customer satisfaction while ensuring high-quality project delivery.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tDesign, install, test, and commission renewable energy systems, including off-grid solar PV and battery installations.
\n\tSupervise and mentor local technicians and students, fostering skill development.
\n\tMaintain clear and continuous communication with clients to meet their needs and expectations.
\n\tPrepare and sign off on post-installation reports for government and international aid-funded projects.
\n\tProvide service and technical support for existing clients.
\n\tImplement and report on health and safety protocols.
\n\tAssist with streamlining work processes and improving operational efficiency.
\n\tManage store operations, including:
\n\tStock ordering and control.
\n\tStaff recruitment, training, and management.
\n\tPreparing production reports.
\n\tSupport the preparation and submission of government and other tenders.
\n\tRepresent the company at conferences and meetings with government and international aid agencies.
\n\tTravel to outer islands and international locations for installations, project sign-offs, and training.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tValid electrical licensing or relevant qualifications.
\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in renewable energy project installations, preferably with off-grid solar PV and battery systems (experience with Victron Energy and ATESS systems is highly desirable).
\n\tProficiency in computer-based electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs) and schematic diagram software.
\n\tProven experience using hand and battery-operated tools.
\n\tComprehensive knowledge of renewable energy system design and installation.
\n\tCurrent driver\u2019s license.
\n\tCompetency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
\n\tStrong proficiency in English (verbal and written).
\n\tWillingness to travel to remote and international locations.<\/p>\n
