Objective of the role<\/p>\n
\tThe Principal\u2013 Mobile Assets is responsible for providing oversight and support of the Owner and Mining Contractor heavy mobile equipment (HME) Workshop, Pit Maintenance and Light Vehicles ensuring the strategic maintenance and efficient operation of HME & LVs.
\n\tThe role and accountabilities are to ensure that the discipline functions as the centre of excellence and the custodian of all matters relating mobile equipment within the asset management discipline.
\n\tThe role ensures that all equipment is maintained according to the equipment management strategy, optimising for full cost of ownership, and maintaining equipment reliability and efficiency.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Education & Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tEngineering or Maintenance related qualification.<\/p>\n
Technical Knowledge, Skills & Experience\u00a0<\/p>\n
\t10+ years, preferably with Asset \/ HME management experience.
\n\tA Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in a core engineering\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 discipline \u2013 i.e. Mechanical or Electrical or post-graduate in Asset Management would be beneficial.
\n\tStrong track record of success at specialist level in the mining industry working within the surface and underground mobile assets (HME) field. Deep level understanding of planning and maintenance of mobile equipment to ensure Integrity over the life of mine. At least 5 years relevant operational experience on a mine site related to mobile mining equipment. Relevant Mine\/Site based experience is crucial.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Budget delivery: Analyse and Report actual mining performance and oversee the supply, logistics and stores processes<\/p>\n
Performance Analysis and Reporting:<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse and report actual mining maintenance performance against the Annual Rate Review (ARR) parameters, budget, and forecast plans.
\n\tEvaluate contractual maintenance performance using key parameters and report through to the ALT, and where there is underperformance,
\n\tValidate maintenance KPIs in the ARR process with contractors.
\n\tProvide monthly variance analysis for maintenance KPIs (monthly, quarterly, annually).
\n\tGenerate monthly reports comparing maintenance KPIs to ARR for presentation at ALTs.
\n\tProvide business planning support in regards to fleet sizing and asset strategy
\n\tProvide inputs & support where required for annual planning process.
\n\tProvide inputs and analysis support to bespoke projects.
\n\tMonitors labour ratios and maintenance costs and supports the contractor in driving down life cycle costs.
\n\tPlays an active role working directly with alliance partners in improving performance of any of the key asset management metrics not achieving target.<\/p>\n
Supply Chain and Logistics Management:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure effective supply, logistics, and stores processes to maintain part availability for planned and unplanned work.
\n\tMonitors the delays associated with waiting for parts and where excessive drive the contractor to improve machines-await-parts metric targets.
\n\tComplete routine reviews of critical spares inventory on sites.<\/p>\n
Context setting\/long term planning:<\/p>\n
\tReview and escalate as required\u00a0strategic maintenance plans for all HME, aligning with organisational goals and long-term asset management strategies.\u00a0 Provides a regional view of the long-term plan
\n\tReviews the Life of Mine\/Life asset plans that balances machine residual life and performance and ensures it aligns with business need
\n\tReviews Equipment management strategies to understand alignment with OEM\/Best Practice
\n\tWork directly with CTO as the BU Subject Matter expert.<\/p>\n
Mining Contract Management:<\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration across departments and with suppliers
\n\tProviding governance across the contractor\u2019s compliance with the Safety & Health and Environmental policies, standards, procedures, and regulations.
\n\tProvide oversight of statutory positions within the owner & contract maintenance teams
\n\tCoach and advise contract owners and key stakeholders regarding the contractual levers for effective contract management detailed within the scope of the Alliance contracts related to Maintenance.
\n\tBenchmark key contract inputs for maintenance and monitor actual performance against appropriate benchmarks.
\n\tIdentify opportunities for performance and cost improvements and advise contractors\/owners accordingly.
\n\tActs as custodian of the AMT process associated with Asset Management of HME and LVs and is a key member of AMTs, providing input into ALT processes.
\n\tAct as the key contract liaison between AGA and Mining Contractors for maintenance related tasks
\n\tEscalation of issues as required to the AMT\/ALT.
\n\tConstructive contribution to the entire business unit performance.<\/p>\n

\tEnsure contractor and owner run fleets have a targeted reliability program for the key production units to address acute and chronic problems.
\n\tSupport Alliance Contractors to conduct data-driven reliability analysis for the key production fleet, and where required stress test analysis and recommendations
\n\tEnsure contractors have developed detailed action plans with progress tracking.<\/p>\n
Root Cause Problem Solving:<\/p>\n
\tChampion a robust root cause problem-solving program for mining contractors to investigate large and recurring failures in line with the Contractors framework.

\tEnsure adherence to the contractor’s work management process and integrate quality into planning and execution.
