RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to all the rules and regulations.
\n\tAdvise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
\n\tAdvise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
\n\tCheck if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations.
\n\tCompile H&S File and supporting documentation for approval for new projects.
\n\tConduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
\n\tConduct site visits and monthly audits on the relevant projects.
\n\tEnforce preventative measures.
\n\tIdentify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions.
\n\tInitiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives.
\n\tInspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g., not using protective equipment).
\n\tPrepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
\n\tPrepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis.
\n\tPrepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
\n\tRecord and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle workers compensation claims.
\n\tReview existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
\n\tStop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
\n\tSupport the development of OHS policies and programs.
\n\tWork with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\tSamtrac
\n\tMinimum five years on site experience
\n\tRegistered with the SACPCMP as a Health and Safety Officer
\n\tIncident Investigation
\n\tValid Drivers Licence<\/p>\n
SKILLS:\ufeff<\/p>\n
\tProven experience as safety officer.
\n\tIn depth knowledge of legislation (e.g., OHS Act, SANS) and procedures.
\n\tKnowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
\n\tExperience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
\n\tFamiliarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
\n\tProficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems.
\n\tOutstanding organizational skills.
\n\tDiligent with great attention to detail.
\n\tExcellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.<\/p>\n
