Duties and responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tManage the NSFAS\/DHET General fund and NSFAS pre-funders.\u00a0
\n\tPrepare, verify, and submit required templates to NSFAS (e.g., academic data, registration data).\u00a0
\n\tReview and validate funded lists for accuracy by resolving items on the exception report before allocations.\u00a0
\n\tEnsure the accuracy and timely processing of allowance payments.\u00a0
\n\tAllocate, adjust, disburse, and cancel bursary amounts as required.\u00a0
\n\tManage the student transport allowance process.\u00a0
\n\tOversee the private accommodation application and approval process.\u00a0
\n\tOversee and manage refund applications.\u00a0
\n\tContribute to the regular review and improvement of Financial Aid information and related documentation.\u00a0
\n\tAssist in removing administrative blocks where necessary.\u00a0
\n\tCommunicate important updates and instructions to students.\u00a0
\n\tManage credit processes, including returning unspent amounts to NSFAS.\u00a0
\n\tAssist in compiling and finalising the NSFAS close-out report.\u00a0
\n\tPerform reconciliations of entities, funds, and payments.\u00a0
\n\tSet up and maintain fiscal amounts on bursary funds, including amendments and reconciliations.\u00a0
\n\tConduct annual setup processes.\u00a0
\n\tCreate new item types and entities for newly established funds.\u00a0
\n\tAssist with statistical reports to senior management, NSFAS, DHET, and other stakeholders.\u00a0
\n\tImplement risk management through reconciliation processes and accuracy controls.\u00a0
\n\tSupervise, mentor, and train team members.\u00a0
\n\tDevelop, discuss, and submit performance reviews, work environment assessments, and improvement plans for personnel.\u00a0
\n\tAddress and resolve escalated enquiries from students, parents, guardians, and external sponsors.\u00a0
\n\tRecommend and prepare system improvements to streamline processes.\u00a0
\n\tAssist with internal and external audit processes.\u00a0
\n\tParticipate in the recruitment process for permanent and temporary staff.\u00a0
\n\tAttend meetings and provide feedback to relevant staff members.\u00a0
\n\tRepresent the institution at NSFAS workshops and communicate key updates to management and staff.<\/p>\n
Inherent requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s or B. Tech degree on NQF Level 7 with Accounting on third year level (attach academic record).\u00a0
\n\tA minimum of three (3) years’ relevant financial experience.<\/p>\n

\tKnowledge of PeopleSoft\u00a0
