Description<\/p>\n
\tThis position exists to provide and manage mechanical engineering tasks on projects in general and specifically related to pump and pipeline designs and implementation and to undertake strategic initiatives and projects within the NXTGEN department, in support of the Group.
\n\tThe focus of the role is to develop into an industry leader in the conceptualisation and design of hydro mining solutions and to drive development and innovation within the business in line with the company strategy, to evaluate and assure control environments, and to provide research, analytical and technical support to the Divisions.
\n\tThe role will also facilitate the integration of new technologies into the operational divisions.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Pump and Pipeline Systems Designs<\/p>\n
\tOversee and conduct a lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing of assigned strategic projects.
\n\tEnsuring management of the entire project scope, project team, resources, budgets, and the success of the project.
\n\tCoordinate and manage external consultants, suppliers and developers in execution of projects.<\/p>\n
Project Management<\/p>\n

\n\tEnsuring management of the entire project scope, project team, resources, budgets, and the success of the project.
\n\tCoordinate and manage external consultants, suppliers and developers in execution of projects.<\/p>\n
NXTGEN Reporting<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement business model and business plans for NXTGEN initiatives.
\n\tDeliver detailed progress reports on appointed strategic projects.
\n\tCommunicating and providing project specific information to EXCO and\/or relevant Stakeholders.
\n\tDriving NXTGEN awareness in the business.
\n\tDriving marketing initiatives relating to NXTGEN projects.<\/p>\n
Risk Identification and Management<\/p>\n
\tIdentify the risks associated with NXTGEN and develop solutions to engineer out or mitigate these risks.
\n\tTurning challenges and risks into strengths that provide a unique selling opportunity for the NXTGEN Solutions.
\n\tIdentify the controls and mitigations by which these risks are managed within the business and provide a full evaluation of the control environment.
\n\tOngoing liaison with the mineral processing and tailings technical and operational teams to implement new work practices.<\/p>\n
Innovative Engineering Solutions<\/p>\n
\tIndustry trends, initiatives and opportunity awareness.
\n\tResearch projects (Academic\/Other) \u2013 Project lead and management.
\n\tNew equipment solutions \u2013 investigate, identify and R&D and operationalise model.
\n\tNew tailings deposition\/placement solutions \u2013 investigate, define, and operationalise model.
\n\tNew reclamation solutions including pumping and piping systems \u2013 investigate, define and operationalise model, including concept mechanical designs.
\n\tRisk management solutions \u2013 best practice tools.
\n\tMarketing \u2013 innovative solutions to market.
\n\tCommercial negotiations and formalisation of innovative solutions with service providers, suppliers, consultants, etc.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tEngineering degree (BSc with Honours) or BEng \u2013 Mechanical Engineering
\n\tProject Management experience will be advantageous<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\t5-10 years applicable experience<\/p>\n
SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED<\/p>\n
\tExcellent working knowledge of technical solutions, specifically around pumping and piping.
\n\tExperience in tailings management will be an advantage
\n\tExcellent project management skills
