Procurement Administrator (Mining)\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tOur client in the mining sector is seeking a highly organised Procurement Administrator with at least five years\u2019 experience in the mining industry.
\n\tThe successful candidate will manage and coordinate the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and quality standards while supporting mining operations.
\n\tThe position will be based in Irene, Centurion and extensive travelling to clients will be expected of the successful candidate.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of five years\u2019 procurement experience in the mining industry.
\n\tRelevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field preferred.
\n\tStrong knowledge of supply chain management, vendor relations, and mining-specific procurement practices.
\n\tProficiency in ERP\/procurement software and MS Office Suite.
\n\tExcellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
\n\tStrong understanding of HSE and regulatory compliance requirements.
\n\tProfessional certification (e.g., CIPS) advantageous.
\n\tEssential: Own Vehicle and Valid Driver’s License.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Roles and Responsibilities:
\nProcurement Planning & Sourcing<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and maintain procurement plans aligned with project and production schedules.
\n\tSource and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts.
\n\tMonitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved supply strategies.<\/p>\n
Order & Contract Management<\/p>\n
\tPrepare, issue, and track purchase orders and contracts.
\n\tEnsure adherence to agreed terms, conditions, and delivery schedules.
\n\tMaintain accurate procurement records and supplier documentation.<\/p>\n
Vendor & Supplier Management<\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors.
\n\tConduct supplier performance reviews and address non-conformances.
\n\tResolve supply issues, disputes, or delays promptly.<\/p>\n
Budget & Cost Control<\/p>\n
\tMonitor procurement budgets and report on cost variances.
\n\tIdentify and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
\n\tAssist with financial forecasting related to procurement activities.<\/p>\n
Logistics & Inventory Coordination<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate delivery schedules with site and warehouse teams.
\n\tTrack shipments and ensure proper customs documentation where applicable.
\n\tLiaise with inventory control to maintain optimal stock levels.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Governance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with mining regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
\n\tMaintain documentation for internal audits and external inspections.
\n\tEnforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Communication<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate closely with project managers, engineering, and finance departments.
\n\tProvide regular procurement status updates and reports to management.
\n\tSupport cross-functional teams in resolving procurement-related challenges.<\/p>\n
