RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
\tTeaching alternative dispute resolution and civil procedure, and also have the ability to present any of the modules offered by the Department of Procedural Law, in order to meet the needs of the Department as required for both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
\n\tConducting academic and scholarly research;
\n\tHaving an in-depth understanding of specialisation to enable the development of new knowledge, innovation and understanding within the field;
\n\tThe development of new knowledge, innovation and understanding within the field;
\n\tSupervising masters students;
\n\tMentoring students at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
\n\tPerforming academic administration and management;
\n\tPerforming other duties as delegated by the Head of the Department.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\tAn appropriate LLM degree;
\n\tRelevant tertiary teaching experience will be a strong motivation;
\n\tEvidence of community engagement being embedded in the research and\/or teaching.<\/p>\n
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):<\/p>\n
\tAbility to plan and initiate discipline-related research;
\n\tAbility to work independently and as part of a dynamic team;
\n\tAppropriate communication skills;
\n\tExcellent presentation skills.<\/p>\n
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:<\/p>\n
\tCompletion of the LLD or nearly completed, waiting on examination results
\n\tRelevant teaching experience, including curriculum development at a tertiary or educational institution;\u00a0
\n\tRelevant academic administration experience will be a recommendation.
\n\tTwo accredited publications in the last three years will be a strong recommendation;
\n\tAdmitted attorney or advocate of the High Court of SA;\u00a0
\n\tPossess an in-depth understanding of the Law of Civil Procedure, Practical Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.<\/p>\n
