RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Supervising pre-delivery loading procedures by:<\/p>\n
\tCollecting and sorting waybills according to route requirements
\n\tChecking cargo for damage, shortages and verifies waybill against cargo stickers
\n\tScanning numbers for delivery and collection lists
\n\tScanning parcels into trucks for delivery
\n\tSupervising cargo loading, ensuring handling and safety compliance
\n\tIdentifying COD’s and follow through collections of such COD’s
\n\tLiaising with clients as and when required<\/p>\n
Monitoring delivery and collection procedures by:<\/p>\n
\tConducting bay checks, investigates non-deliveries, completes bay schedule \u2013 daily
\n\tMonitoring daily and ad hoc collections and provides collection instructions via radio
\n\tResponding to delivery and collection clears and resolving queries
\n\tLiaising with clients regarding collection \/ delivery information, data and instructions
\n\tMonitoring vehicle activity using satellite tracking system<\/p>\n
Supervising of vehicle debriefing\/ offloading procedures by:<\/p>\n
\tDirecting parcel sorting into destination \/ location area
\n\tVerifying waybills against parcels and stickers
\n\tScanning parcels into Freightware by waybill and submits to data capturers
\n\tChecking scanning on system
\n\tChecking cargo dimensions and weight on receipt of collections at the depot
\n\tRecording cheques received in Zone File and submits to data captured daily
\n\tVerifying all documents in terms of documents being signed off correctly, and waybill numbers appear correctly<\/p>\n
Providing team maintenance by:<\/p>\n
\tProviding instructions, handling complaints, queries, training team members, counseling and motivating improved performance of team members<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 minimum (Matric)
\n\t3 \u2013 4 years in freight \/ transportation
\n\tAbility to converse in both English \/ Afrikaans language
\n\tAbility to do arithmetic calculations
\n\tIndustry specific experience is not a prerequisite, but would assist
\n\tA basic understanding of a store \/ warehousing environment
\n\tA good understanding of transportation routing within area of operation
\n\tA good understanding of freight packaging requirements and load distribution
\n\tA basic technical understanding of motor vehicles and general traffic ordinances
\n\tComputer literate \u2013 basic understanding of Freight ware or similar management system
\n\tA unendorsed valid driver\u2019s code 10
\n\tAbility to work unsociable hours as and when required in order to meet clients\u2019 needs
\n\tAbility to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
\n\tAbility to communicate on all levels \u2013 both internally and externally
\n\tAbility to work unsupervised the majority of the time
\n\tAssertive
