Responsibilities will include but not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tIs responsible for safe maintenance and repair of conveyor belts equipment in order to ensure the availability and reliability thereof
\n\tIs responsible for engineering technical compliance
\n\tPerform inspections and work in accordance with the Mine Standards and Procedures and the Mine Health and Safety Act and regulations
\n\tRecording of inspections, maintenance and repairs conducted to equipment on checklists and job cards
\n\tBe able to identify faults and repair defects without supervision
\n\tMaintain good housekeeping in responsibility
\n\tEnsuring that all planning and productivity requirements are safely achieved
\n\tUndertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) to perform in a safe and controlled manner
\n\tMust be prepared to work shifts, overtime and standby duties<\/p>\n

\tRecognised Fitter or Fitter & Turner Trade Test Certificate<\/p>\n
Internal Candidates<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 with Math (Not Literacy) & Science, minimum E symbol with relevant two N2 Trade related subjects as per MQA guideline or N2 with four relevant trade related subjects as per MQA guideline. N2 trade related subject will be advantageous.<\/p>\n
External Candidates<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 with Math (Not Literacy) & Science, minimum E symbol with relevant two N2 Trade related subjects as per MQA guideline
\n\tGas Testing Certificate
\n\tFlameproof Certificate
\n\tHave sound knowledge of MHSA, safety systems and a high regard for safety, regulations and standards
\n\tProven excellent safety record
\n\tDisplay good understanding of equipment & tools and uses thereof
\n\tGood communication and interpersonal skills
\n\tMust be able to speak, read and write in English
\n\tBe able to cope effectively with pressure in a production environment, be innovative and a self-starter
\n\tBe able to work in a team, carry out given instructions and give feedback effectively
\n\tBe able to identify faults and repair defects without supervision
\n\tValid K53 driver\u2019s license with own transport
\n\tIn possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness<\/p>\n
\u00a0Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tAt least 2 years post-trade experience as a Fitter
\n\tExperience on conveyor belts maintenance, conveyor belt installations and belt extensions.
\n\tSafety & Risk Management Course<\/p>\n
