Job Description<\/p>\n
\tMain Purpose: To program and operate the CNC and other machines in the machine shop according to specifications and to maximise capacity and productivity by adhering to Company\u2019s policies and procedures and health and safety principles.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas:<\/p>\n
\tRead, understand drawings and ensure work is completed in accordance to codes and specifications (especially tolerances).
\n\tOperate CNC, Lathe, Milling Radial Arm Drill and Cut Off Saw machines.
\n\tAdhere to daily target and assignments.
\n\tMaintain discipline i.e. timekeeping, attendance and quality of workmanship.
\n\tEnsure that all tools are in good working condition, i.e. hand tools, portable electrical equipment (grinders, pencil grinders) gas equipment (cutting torch).
\n\tHousekeeping to be maintained daily.
\n\tDo stamp transfer and request QC for verifications and NDT\u2019s.
\n\tDo proper planning to execute the work to the client\u2019s specification and the Company\u2019s standards i.e. quality, productivity and safety.
\n\tPerform to target settings as per schedule.
\n\tMinimise scrap and verify program with Chargehand before hot work.
\n\tEnsure adherence to internal control standard (work to work orders and ITP).
\n\tOperate the CNC machines according to safety specifications.
\n\tGet specific work done in time, safely and within quality.
\n\tWilling to learn and operate critical machines (Fermat vertical and Goratu horizontal milling with Heindenhein software).
\n\tAny other job-related duties as required from time to time.<\/p>\n

Preferred Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12.
\n\tN5 in Mechanical would be preferable.
\n\tQualified Artisan \u2013 Red Seal.
\n\t3 Years\u2019 experience working in a machine shop, especially CNC programming\/Operator within the power industry.
\n\tExperience in working on the following machines, software packages and operating systems.
\n\tHaas Milling, Goratu Milling, CNC Milling and CNC Boring Mill machines.
\n\tMilling and Turning software (Fanuc, Fagor and Heidenheim programs).
\n\tMastercam, Heiden Hein and Fanuc.
\n\tExperience in Mastercam or Solid Works drawing programming skills.
\n\tExperience in using hand tools including relevant welding equipment.
\n\tExperience in working in a heavy engineering fabrication and within a machine shop facility.
\n\tKnowledge of using measuring equipment (verniers, calipers, tapes, laser alignment, level gauge, depth gauge micrometer, etc.).
\n\tKnowledge of machining of high pressure and high temperature (thick walled) components in the power industry.
\n\tKnowledge of risk assessment, relevant machining practices, standards and procedures.
\n\tKnowledge of materials, tools and machining equipment.
\n\tKnowledge of relevant safety requirements within machine shop.
\n\tMust be able to read, understand and interpret technical and component drawings and able to learn and check programs.
\n\tUnderstand and adhere to safety protocols \u2013 lock out and tag out when working on machines, work permits for heights, pressurised equipment etc.
\n\tWork to work packs from planning, maintenance request works order, planned maintenance schedule, verbal instructions, drawings and time constraints (analyse the drawings, determine the tooling and consumables to be used and the machine to be used).
\n\tAlways ensure the correct use of PPE.
\n\tValid driver\u2019s licence.
\n\tComputer literate (MS Office).<\/p>\n
