Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
\tDegree or equivalent qualification in the field of Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Risk Management legal, or related field
\n\tA postgraduate qualification in MBA\/CIA\/CA is required Professional membership with recognised body ( e.g SAICA,CIMA,IIA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
\n\tProven experience 8 -10 years Senior management experience gained from Strategic Management, Financial Accounting, Governance, Legal, Internal Auditing, Risk Management and Information Technology<\/p>\n
Key responsibilities and Duties
\nLeadership and Oversight<\/p>\n
\tProvide overall Leadership to the Audit Committee and ensure it functions effectively.
\n\tPreside over meetings, set the agenda (in consultation with management and auditors and ensure discussion remain focused and productive.
\n\tFacilitate balanced participation and decision making within the Committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Governance, Compliance and Ethics<\/p>\n
\tOversee the integrity and quality of fi\u00adnancial reporting processes.
\n\tReview the institution`s \u00adfinancial statements and ensure accurate, transparent and compliant with applicable standards.
\n\tMonitor the effectiveness of internal fi\u00adnancial controls.<\/p>\n
Financial Oversight<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that the Committee fulfils its statutory responsibilities as outlined in the PFMA, Treasury regulations and other applicable legislations.
\n\tPromote adherence to sound corporate governance practices.
\n\tUphold the highest standards of integrity, independence and objectivity.
\n\tEnsure that the Committee promotes ethical conduct and compliance throughout the institution.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n
\tEnsure effective oversight of the institution`s risk management framework.
\n\tMonitor the institutions\u2019 ability to identify, manage and mitigate key risks.
\n\tOversee the effectiveness and independence of the internal audit function.
\n\tLiaise with external auditors, review audit reports and monitor management
\n\tImplementation of recommendations.<\/p>\n
