\tThe Process Controller is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing nitrate production processes to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations. The role supports operational excellence by ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.<\/p>\n
Required Outputs: Functional\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMonitor and control nitrate production processes using SCADA\/DCS systems.
\n\tAdjust process parameters in real-time to maintain product quality and process efficiency.
\n\tAnalyze process data and trends to identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
\n\tEnsure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
\n\tConduct risk assessments, report hazards, and participate in incident investigations.
\n\tPromote a culture of safety and proactive risk management within the team.
\n\tEnsure production meets defined targets in terms of quantity, quality, and timelines.
\n\tImplement process control strategies to minimize waste and energy consumption.
\n\tCollaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain product specifications.
\n\tIdentify and troubleshoot process issues, equipment malfunctions, or inefficiencies.
\n\tSupport continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing principles.
\n\tParticipate in process optimization projects and upgrades.
\n\tMaintain accurate logs, shift reports, and process data documentation.
\n\tPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for management review.
\n\tEnsure compliance with operational procedures and internal audit requirements.
\n\tWork closely with operations, maintenance, and laboratory teams to achieve operational goals.
\n\tSupport training of junior staff and shift team members on process operations and best practices.
\n\tActively contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ NQF Level 4 in Chemical Operations OR National Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field
\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in chemical or nitrate production operations
\n\tProven experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
\n\tStrong knowledge of chemical\/nitrate processes, process safety, risk assessment, and environmental compliance
\n\tProficiency in SCADA\/DCS systems
\n\tStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills
\n\tAbility to work safely, follow procedures, and maintain compliance
\n\tEffective teamwork and communication skills<\/p>\n
