\tTo operate shot blasting and preparation equipment.
\n\tTo prepare and apply paint & other industrial coatings to Car-bodies and manufactured items. \u00a0\u00a0
\n\tTo perform self inspections before, during and after painting in accordance with the Instructions and standards<\/p>\n

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBe proactive in the EHS risk situation
\n\tTo use the safety equipment and rules defined
\n\tEnsure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies, and procedures.
\n\tPreparation of surfaces to be painted, Sanding – wet\/dry rubbing, masking etc
\n\tSand and\/or shot and\/or hydro and\/or grit blasting of parts and assemblies in preparation for fabrication or painting.
\n\tApply body filler, putty to repair dents and surface imperfections
\n\tApply sealants and adhesives.
\n\tApply primer\/anticorrosive coatings manually with brushes and with spray guns,
\n\tApplication of sound-deadening materials, antislip, bodyguard
\n\tManual and spray application of solvent and water borne coatings (such as paint, lacquer, enamel, epoxy and 2K paints) onto manufactured products to provide finished surfaces. Use formulas given in instruction to mix the paint to be applied and tinting of paint if required
\n\tApply final stopping\/spot putty.
\n\tMark up and demarcate lines according to drawings
\n\tApply decals and stencils
\n\tAssembly\/fit post paint fittings such as rivet nuts etc
\n\tOperate hand, power tools and machinery, spray paint equipment cup guns, pressure pots, airless and air assisted airless pumps.
\n\tIdentify and fix defective areas of painted items and touch up
\n\tExercise skills and knowledge of Spray Painting trade qualification
\n\tCorrectly instruct, transfer skills to any apprentice and semi-skilled worked assigned to you to ensure safety and quality of work
\n\tHousekeeping duties
\n\tFirst level maintenance of spray equipment and paint shop plant<\/p>\n

Educational Requirements<\/p>\n
Mandatory:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ N3
\n\tFormal Trade qualification in spray painting<\/p>\n
Desirable:<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n

\tAt least 3 – 5 years relevant experience in the paint shop.
\n\tSpray paint using cup guns, pressure pots, airless pumps and air assisted airless equipment.
\n\tExperience in preparation, masking and sanding for paint.
\n\tKnowledge of painting processes<\/p>\n
Desirable:<\/p>\n
\tPainting in railway industry
\n\tKnowledge of shot blasting is advantageous<\/p>\n
