\tPrepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cashflows for the smaller group companies, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission;
\n\tOversee inventory transactions and ensure accurate reconciliation between the stock and finance systems, while driving automation and process integration to enhance efficiency;
\n\tManage the accounting processes and financial reporting for smaller group companies;
\n\tPrepare audit related schedules as and when require;
\n\tEnsure a robust cost control environment, working capital discipline, and accurate accruals;
\n\tProvide leadership by acting as a resource, coach, and mentor, while setting clear team goals aligned with business objectives;
\n\tDrive accountability and high performance by monitoring outputs, enforcing deadlines, and supporting continuous adherence to finance policies;
\n\tLead by example to foster a collaborative, disciplined and results-oriented work environment that recognises and rewards success;
\n\tSupport team members in overcoming barriers to productivity and goal achievement;
\n\tHandle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment;
\n\tManage the accountants responsible for inventory reconciliations and the accounting of smaller group companies;
\n\tProduce accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring reconciliations are complete and aligned with IFRS and company policies;
\n\tReport on inventory movements, reconciliations between stock and finance systems, and results of smaller group companies;
\n\tConduct variance analysis on stock movements and direct operating costs, reporting significant deviations to stakeholders with clear explanations and actionable recommendations;
\n\tManage the relationship between auditors and the Finance Department, ensuring all audit queries are resolved efficiently and accurately;
\n\tReview and approve audit schedules to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with IFRS and company policies, while confirming the audit readiness of smaller group companies\u2019 accounts;
\n\tAssist the Senior Manager: Finance in the annual audit process by coordinating information and deliverables from team members and other departments;
\n\tEngage with internal stakeholders (Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and other Finance teams) to ensure finance-related processes are completed accurately and on time;
\n\tCollaborate with external partners, auditors, and service providers to maintain accurate reconciliations, resolve queries, and ensure compliance;
\n\tSupport negotiations or reviews of financial terms by preparing accurate data, reconciliations, variance explanations, and scenario analysis;
\n\tParticipate in discussions and negotiations with regulatory and government bodies (e.g., ACSA, ATNS), reviewing and challenging the basis for proposed price increases or charges to safeguard the organisation\u2019s interests;
\n\tEnsure compliance of accounting records are accurate and comply with IFRS;
\n\tDrive adherence to finance policies and procedures across departments, escalating non-compliance to the Senior Manager: Finance;
\n\tMaintain compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements;
\n\tApply a thorough understanding of contractual agreements and regulatory charges to ensure accurate billing, accruals, and allocations;
\n\tEnsure smaller group companies\u2019 accounts comply with statutory filing requirements.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
\n\tBCom degree in Finance or Accounting (Essential);
\n\tBCom Honours in Finance or Accounting OR 6 years Aviation experience (Essential);
\n\tProfessional certification such as SAIPA, SAICA or relevant (Essential);
\n\tChartered Accountant CA (SA) (Advantageous);
\n\t10 years\u2019 Finance experience in a mid-sized organisation, of which, 3 years\u2019 must have been in a management role (Essential);
\n\tMust have completed articles (Essential);
\n\tExperience in budget preparation and reporting (Essential);
\n\tExperience in the preparing and finalising accounts in accordance with current South African regulations (Essential);
\n\tExposure to working across multiple systems and ensuring reconciliations between finance and operational systems (Essential);
\n\tExperience in an accounting software package (Advantageous).<\/p>\n
