Role Purpose\/Business Unit:<\/p>\n
\tAs the Head of HR, you will be responsible for building and leading the Human Resources function from the ground up in a dynamic and fast-paced start-up environment.
\n\tYou will be the architect of the company\u2019s people strategy, responsible for establishing and scaling the HR function in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
\n\tYou will work closely with the founding team to build a strong organizational culture, attract and retain top talent, and ensure compliance with local labor laws.
\n\tThis is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and is passionate about building from scratch.<\/p>\n
Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
HR Strategy & Setup<\/p>\n
\tDesign and implement the foundational HR strategy aligned with the start-up\u2019s growth plans.
\n\tSet up core HR systems, policies, and processes (e.g., contracts, payroll, benefits, HRIS).
\n\tBuild scalable HR infrastructure to support future expansion across the DRC.<\/p>\n
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding<\/p>\n
\tLead end-to-end recruitment for critical roles, including technical, operational, and commercial functions.
\n\tDevelop cost-effective sourcing strategies and build a strong employer brand.
\n\tEstablish onboarding processes that reflect the company\u2019s values and mission.<\/p>\n
Culture & Organizational Development<\/p>\n
\tShape and nurture a high-performance, mission-driven culture.
\n\tFacilitate leadership alignment and team-building initiatives.
\n\tPromote values of transparency, agility, and accountability.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tEnsure full compliance with DRC labor laws and employment regulations.
\n\tManage employee relations and mitigate HR-related risks.
\n\tLiaise with legal and finance teams to ensure proper documentation and governance.<\/p>\n
People Operations<\/p>\n
\tOversee payroll, benefits, and HR administration with lean resources.
\n\tImplement performance management systems and feedback loops.
\n\tSupport compensation benchmarking and equity planning.<\/p>\n
Performance & Change Management<\/p>\n
\tImplement performance management frameworks and KPIs.
\n\tLead change management initiatives to support organizational transformation.
\n\tSupport leadership in managing transitions, restructures, and growth phases.<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate for this role will have:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
\n\t8+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in telecoms, infrastructure, or start-up environments.
\n\tProven experience in building HR functions from scratch.
\n\tStrong understanding of labor laws and HR practices in the DRC or similar markets.
\n\tFluent in French and English.
\n\tExperience setting up HR functions from scratch.<\/p>\n
