Project Management & Coordination<\/p>\n
The Senior Researcher is responsible for the coordination and supports the management of Research Projects across the Institute; these include supporting and coordination of the following aspects of the projects<\/p>\n
\tProject planning and Initiation.
\n\tEquipment and Research Materials.
\n\tProject Human Resources.
\n\tProject Finances.
\n\tRisk Management and Mitigation.
\n\tMonitoring, Evaluation, reporting and project close out.<\/p>\n
Research, Development, and Innovation<\/p>\n
The Senior Researcher is responsible for the coordination and supports the management of Research, development, and innovation, these include the supporting and coordination of the following Research aspects<\/p>\n
\tInvention.
\n\tTranslation.\u00a0
\n\tCommercialization.
\n\tAdoption and Use.<\/p>\n
Research Collaboration<\/p>\n
The Senior Researcher is responsible for the coordination and supports the management of strategic research collaboration and collaboration opportunities; these include the supporting and coordination of<\/p>\n
\tStrategic Research partnerships \/ networks \/ collaborators.
\n\tIntra-Inter Institutional Collaboration & Partnerships.<\/p>\n
Human Capacity Building<\/p>\n
The Senior Researcher is responsible for coordination and supports the management of Human Capacity Development that includes support of<\/p>\n
\tProject staff and students.
\n\tSelf.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tPhD in Agricultural Economics or a closely related field.
\n\tAt least 5 years post-PhD experience or equivalent relevant experience.
\n\tMinimum of 12 peer-reviewed publications in recognized journals.
\n\tProven ability to generate research funding and manage projects.
\n\tRecognized national expertise with evidence of growing international recognition.
\n\tProven experience in mentoring and supervising postgraduate students.
\n\tCompetency in SPSS, Stata, and\/or EViews for data analysis.
\n\tStrong understanding of South Africa\u2019s agricultural sector.
\n\tExcellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
\n\tSound understanding of the priorities and challenges facing the agricultural sector in South Africa.
\n\tAbility to build and manage relationships with other researchers, as well as a wide range of stakeholders outside ARC.
\n\tNRF rating of at least C1 or higher will be an added advantage.
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n
