POSITION PURPOSE<\/p>\n
\tThe Lounge Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for managing the hygiene, cleanliness, and upkeep of all SAA lounge areas, ensuring consistent delivery of a premium hospitality standard.
\n\tThe role includes frontline leadership, daily operational oversight, stock control, quality assurance, guest engagement, staff training, and enforcement of performance and conduct standards in line with “The Broll Way.”<\/p>\n
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES<\/p>\n
Supervisory Duties:<\/p>\n
\tLead and support cleaning teams across multiple lounge zones, ensuring daily adherence to allocated rosters and service schedules.
\n\tCoach, motivate, and mentor staff to uphold the highest standards of hygiene, presentation, and guest courtesy.
\n\tEnforce proper PPE use, grooming, and professional appearance in accordance with Broll and airport regulations.
\n\tManage shift handovers, provide clear task directives, and resolve minor staff issues timeously.
\n\tImplement disciplinary actions in line with the approved Disciplinary Policy and Disciplinary Code, escalating serious breaches to the Site Manager.<\/p>\n
Operational Oversight:<\/p>\n
\tConduct structured walkthroughs during each shift using Supervisor Inspection Checklists (e.g., ablutions, showers, kitchens, reception).
\n\tOversee quality control in all areas, especially high-traffic and high-sensitivity zones (e.g., showers, bar, snooze rooms).
\n\tVerify that work is completed as per the Cleaning Lounge Priority Matrix, with specific emphasis on presentation standards and timing.
\n\tEnsure ablution and shower inspections are carried out consistently, documented, and filed.
\n\tAssist in resolving operational complaints or incidents raised by passengers or SAA staff.<\/p>\n
Inventory Management:<\/p>\n
\tMonitor, record, and manage daily consumption and breakages of consumables, cutlery, and cleaning agents.
\n\tFlag stock nearing depletion and initiate monthly requisition plans submitted to the Site Manager.
\n\tEnsure lounge amenities, including toiletries, towels, and guest supplies, remain above minimum thresholds.<\/p>\n
Training & SOP Enforcement:<\/p>\n
\tOnboard and orient new cleaners on lounge-specific SOPs, safety, and hygiene standards.
\n\tConduct regular refresher training sessions on cleaning protocols, guest etiquette, emergency responses, and digital inspection tools.
\n\tEnforce Broll\u2019s operational procedures, ensuring full compliance with internal audits and client SLA expectations.<\/p>\n
Documentation & Reporting:<\/p>\n
\tSubmit accurate inspection checklists, attendance registers, and incident logs daily.
\n\tCompile end-of-shift summaries, highlighting issues addressed, unresolved matters, and staff performance.
\n\tMaintain records in accordance with digital checklist protocols or central data systems (where applicable).<\/p>\n
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tLounges are maintained to a premium standard, reflecting daily compliance with the Priority Matrix.
\n\tSupervisor inspections (e.g., ablution and shower checklists) are completed and submitted without exception.
\n\tTeam members consistently uphold Broll’s service, hygiene, and appearance standards.
\n\tDisciplinary processes are fairly implemented with documented actions and timely escalations.
\n\tStock is managed proactively, with no interruption to lounge service due to shortages.
\n\tAccurate reporting, checklists, and shift summaries are filed daily.
\n\tGuest queries, complaints, and incidents are resolved professionally or escalated appropriately.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 (Matric) preferred; certificate in Hospitality, Housekeeping Supervision, or Facilities Management is advantageous.
\n\tMinimum 2 years in a supervisory role within a high-end hospitality, airport, or VIP environment.
\n\tProven experience with team supervision, inspection routines, and inventory management.
\n\tFamiliarity with digital checklist tools and quality assurance systems.<\/p>\n

\n\tExcellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
\n\tHigh attention to detail and pride in lounge presentation.
\n\tAbility to coordinate multiple staff and zones simultaneously.
\n\tCompetence in training facilitation and policy enforcement.
\n\tPhysically able to oversee operations throughout large areas and long shifts.<\/p>\n
WORKING CONDITIONS<\/p>\n
\tShift-based work including weekends and public holidays.
\n\tWork within restricted airport zones requiring security clearance.
\n\tExposure to chemicals, equipment, and direct interaction with SAA passengers and senior stakeholders.<\/p>\n
