PURPOSE:<\/p>\n
\tYou will be reporting into EMEA as part of the supply chain team, the main responsibility of the Supply Chain Manager is to create an excellent relationship with customers, to lead and continuously improving the inventory planning, 3PL warehousing, 3PL transport, customer service process flows across South Africa<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Customer Service Excellence:<\/p>\n
\tProvide direction to and lead the customer service department to ensure smooth service to the customer in line with the direction of the EMEA Customer Service Manager.
\n\tPlan and organize the local team.
\n\tCoach and work on the development of our associates to ensure their competences, skills and know-how are used and developed to the best advantage and to work as a well-functioning team.
\n\tEnsure an active role in the sales follow-up and take necessary actions to secure the best sales result.
\n\tSteer the business with KPI\u2019s to improve service level.
\n\tEnsure the correct order management of tenders led by the Sales team based on the instructions received from local Business Units, to conduct and apply the BU pricing policy in compliance and in regards of the tender procedures where applicable.<\/p>\n
Supply Optimization:<\/p>\n
\tLead collaboration with Demand Planning contact and the local sales team management in order to safeguard inventory target settings to meet customer service levels while minimizing potential write off, both within cost restraints and consistent with EDC and suppliers’ lead time.
\n\tLead the review of local stock levels on a regular basis, ensure that KPI\u2019s are met and report all deviations that have financial impact to management.
\n\tEnsure visibility to areas of risk as well as risk mitigation alternatives (supply, logistics) are communicated and employed.
\n\tOversee 3PL warehouse and transport:
\n\tPerform business review meeting with 3PL based on defined KPI\u2019s and monitor their adherence to agreed Service Level Agreement
\n\tCollaborate with the transport team to set up the transport strategy taking into account the business requirements and cost-effective flow of materials.
\n\tMonitor closely all assigned shipments and pro-actively mitigate or remove any delays and risk on country level.
\n\tMonitor network shipping costs as a percentage of freight value, targeting continuous improvement in collaboration with involved stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Internal Alignment:<\/p>\n
\tClose cooperation and collaboration with the MEA Customer Service and Tender Office Manager to define the future direction and strategy of the South African customer service and supply chain team
\n\tRegularly report to superior manager about key issues, projects, budget, team status and performance, challenges and opportunities.
\n\tTo be part of the affiliate\u2019s management meeting to be fully aligned with the affiliates\u2019 direction where applicable.
\n\tCollaborate with regional Business Units, Sales and Operations Planning team, Finance, Warehouses, Legal as well as Regional Management
\n\tReport promptly according to company directives and SOX
\n\tResponsible for ensuring compliance with quality and SOX controls for his\/her sector in line with company directives.<\/p>\n
General<\/p>\n
\tDefine and lead Supply Chain continuous improvement initiatives.
\n\tDemonstrate strong leadership skills and change management competences.
\n\tAssume all other responsibilities and authorities this function may require regarding new opportunities.
\n\tAll these tasks are to be performed according to procedures with respect of legal, good distribution practice and safety regulations.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMaster’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Inventory Management,
\n\tWorking experience min. 5 years;
\n\tHave extensive knowledge of best-in-class customer service practices,
\n\tDemonstrating an extended experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistic Management, and customer service.
\n\tPrevious people management (at least 3 years) and ability to manage change while maintaining individual and team motivation is necessary
\n\tFamiliar with Microsoft Office in general, (SAP is a must) and willing to work with these and other software platforms.
\n\tCustomer focused
\n\tResult oriented, experience with optimizing processes and lean techniques
\n\tGood working knowledge of English (written and spoken).
\n\tExcellent communicator and presenter, able to convince stakeholders
\n\tWilling to travel occasionally (4 times a year on average but might vary as per the business requirements).<\/p>\n
