Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n
Project Accounting & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tMaintain detailed project accounts, ensuring proper costing.
\n\tPrepare monthly project financial statements and management reports.
\n\tEnsure proper allocation of indirect costs and overheads.<\/p>\n
Budgeting & Forecasting<\/p>\n
\tAssist in preparing annual project budgets and periodic forecasts.
\n\tTrack project variances and provide explanations to management.<\/p>\n
Revenue & Cost Recognition<\/p>\n
\tApply correct accounting treatment for revenue.
\n\tEnsure costs are captured accurately in alignment with project agreements.<\/p>\n
Cash Flow & Funding Management<\/p>\n
\tMonitor project cash flows, funding requirements, and capital drawdowns.
\n\tLiaise with treasury accountant and project managers to ensure liquidity for project execution.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Audit Support<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
\n\tProvide documentation and support for internal and external audits.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tAct as a point of contact between finance, project managers, and external stakeholders.
\n\tProvide financial insights to support decision-making and risk mitigation.<\/p>\n
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (essential).
\n\tProfessional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, or ACT treasury certification) advantageous.
\n\t3\u20135 years of experience in project accounting or project finance, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure, or large-scale capital projects.
\n\tExperience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in complex project environments.
\n\tExposure to funding agreements, donor\/grant reporting, or project financing structures is a plus.<\/p>\n
