\tNQF 8 – science
\n\tNQF 6 – general management education
\n\t8 years of post-graduate experience in the science
\n\t5 years of post-graduate experience in the water industry, particularly Catchment management
\n\t3 years experience in managing science staff
\n\tCode 8 driver\u2019s licence
\n\tProven commercial business management experience<\/p>\n
The following are the primary duties of the position:<\/p>\n
\tTransform the operating model of the section from a corporate-funded cost centre into a profit-making commercialised business unit
\n\tDeveloping, optimising, and implementing a business strategy for the section (the incumbent needs to decide on the cutting-edge catchment management services to be provided and market segment to be targeted so that the section activities are commercially viable)
\n\tEnsure the financial viability of the section at all times
\n\tConducting marketing\/sales activities and contracting customers for supply of services
\n\tDeveloping and establishing processes to supply services to the contracted customers
\n\tManaging operation of the service supply processes
\n\tConducting research and development activities on cutting-edge catchment management services, market service needs and operational processes to deliver those services
\n\tProviding leadership to the section
\n\tPlanning, organising, implementing, and controlling section work (projects, project programmes)
\n\tManaging section human resources, including staff temporally seconded from other sections
\n\tManaging section finance and procurement
\n\tManaging SHEQ aspects for the section<\/p>\n

On 8 May 1903 The Rand Water Board was officially established by the Rand Water Board Incorporation Ordinance No. 32 of May 1903 to supply water to the entire area. The Rand Water Board was to include members of the Johannesburg Town Council, The Chamber of Mines, and other existing local authorities in the Witwatersrand. In 1904 Rand Water was required to take over the undertakings of the companies at that time supplying or potentially capable of supplying water to the Witwatersrand. Rand Water was to supply water in bulk only. Water Supply 1905 It was only in 1905 that Rand Water commenced with full operations. By 1906 the annual daily consumption of water supplied by Rand Water was about 11 Ml\/d and it has been growing ever since.
