The Department of Landscape in the Directorate of Building and Estate seeks to appoint Irrigation Technicians X2 . This is one year fixed-term contract at the Giyani Campus.<\/p>\n
INSTRUCTIONS:<\/p>\n
\tApplicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Key performance areas\/Core functions:<\/p>\n
\tInstallation , maintenance, upgrade and repair of large-scale sprinkler systems utilizing electronic controls and sensing mechanisms.
\n\tTroubleshoot and maintain automatic systems
\n\tPlans and design irrigation system layouts for minor landscape projects
\n\tOccupational harzards and safety precautions
\n\tIrrigation installations
\n\tSports turf maintenance
\n\tInstalling gabion baskets
\n\tLandscape construction grounds maintenance and technical skills in landscaping principles
\n\tFacilitate training of irrigation assistants in all aspects of irrigation maintenance and installation
\n\tInstall low voltage wiring controls and fixtures and associated fixtures
\n\tMay have to attend to call outs when pipes unexpetectly burst
\n\tKeep work records and completed jobs from work orders<\/p>\n
Academic Qualification:<\/p>\n
\tNQF Level 4
\n\tNational Senior Certficate or equivalent\/ A relevant Artisans Trade Test Certificate<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tOne (1) year relevant experience<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills<\/p>\n
\tProper and safe use of tools
\n\tWork from ketch plans
\n\tPrepare time and material estimates
\n\tConform to Occupational Health and Safety standards
\n\tAble to perform physical movements
\n\tCommunication skills
