\nICAO Compliance Monitoring<\/p>\n
\tMonitors and evaluates aeronautical meteorological information, products, facilities, and systems to ensure continuous compliance with safety standards.
\n\tContinuously monitors and evaluates the capacity and capability of the Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) to meet use requirements and safety objectives.
\n\tMonitors and evaluates the corrective action plans implemented by the ANSP to effectively resolve safety concerns.\u00a0
\n\tMonitors and evaluates the performance of aeronautical meteorological observing, communication, and remote sensing infrastructure networks. \u00a0
\n\tMonitors and evaluates the performance of weather observation and remote sensing systems, such as weather radars, lightning detection networks, automatic weather observing systems, and web cameras.<\/p>\n
Strengthened Safety, Security and Environmental Safety Oversight System<\/p>\n
\tConducts routine and occasional inspections of aeronautical meteorological information, products, and services.
\n\tConducts regular and ad-hoc inspections of procedures, processes, and policies related to the provision of aeronautical meteorological products and services.
\n\tConducts regular and ad-hoc inspections of the infrastructure, systems, and tools used to provide aeronautical meteorological information, products, and services.
\n\tOversee the implementation of a competency assessment program for aeronautical meteorological personnel.
\n\tAssesses aeronautical meteorological personnel qualifications and competencies against the set standards.
\n\tGenerates inspection reports based on the results of inspections conducted according to the master oversight surveillance plan (MOSP).
\n\tConducts post-inspection activities including writing reports and coordinating the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
\n\tAssists in reviewing proposals for amendments to Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and regional air navigation plans.
\n\tDevelops and continuously reviews inspection and audit tools, such as technical guidance materials, checklists, forms, procedures, and processes, to ensure effective oversight of aeronautical meteorological information, products, and services.
\n\tProvides technical input to assist with responses to ICAO state letters received through the Department of Transport (DoT).
\n\tProvides technical input to safety-related queries about aeronautical meteorological-related incidents and or accidents.
\n\tMonitors safety risks in critical safety areas of aeronautical meteorological information, products, and service provision including related facilities, and systems.
\n\tMakes recommendations to the aerodrome licensing forum regarding issues related to the oversight of aeronautical meteorology.
\n\tPerforms safety risk assessments for various facilities and operational activities related to aeronautical meteorology.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement and safety promotion<\/p>\n
\tWorks collaboratively with other departments within the CAA to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
\n\tConducts investigations into safety incidents to determine their root causes and implement measures to improve safety.
\n\tPromotes safety by participating in safety awareness campaigns, programs, and projects.
\n\tDelivers presentations to the aviation industry, service providers, and regulatory authorities as needed.<\/p>\n
Sustained Good Governance and Organisational Effectiveness<\/p>\n
\tMaintains the QMS within the MET Department to ensure consistency and standardization with SACAA.
\n\tAssists in addressing internal and external audit findings within the specified timeframes.
\n\tAssists in preparing the quarterly and annual reports for the department.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nMinimum Requirements<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) or BSc in Meteorology\/Atmospheric Science\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ideal:<\/p>\n
\tBSc (Hons) degree in Meteorology\/Atmospheric Sciences or BTech in Electrical Engineering (Light Current)<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
7 Years’ experience as a:<\/p>\n
\tAeronautical Meteorological Forecaster or
\n\tMeteorological Technician, or\u00a0
\n\tWeather Radar Technologist. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
