\tThe School Psychologist\/Counsellor at Abbotts High School is a vital support in nurturing students academically, socially, and emotionally within an educational setting. Abbotts High School is a distinguished institution known for delivering exceptional educational standards that culminate in outstanding final outcomes. Principal Accountabilities<\/p>\n
\tProvide counselling services to learners in high school.
\n\tAssist with crisis management for students in need of support.
\n\tEngage with the school-based support team to ensure students\u2019 progress through the proper support and interventions.
\n\tAssist in coordinating and presenting workshops that promote mental health.
\n\tMaintain case history records and prepare reports and stats monthly.
\n\tMight be required to conduct psychoeducational assessments if required.
\n\tWork closely with the Head of Student Wellbeing and Discipline to conduct workshops \/ webinars for students \/ teachers and or parents as requested.<\/p>\n
Skills and Competencies required<\/p>\n
\tAbility to use psychological models and practices to enhance the emotional skills of the students.
\n\tStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people, including students, colleagues, and parents.
\n\tStrong ethical principles
\n\tOngoing professional development
\n\tEffective time management and administrative skills
\n\tA positive attitude and approach to change and development
\n\tAbility work in a high-performance team.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tRelevant Masters Degree in Counselling or Educational Psychology, or BPsych degree.
\n\tMinimum of 1 years\u2019 experience in a similar type of position and environment.
\n\tHPCSA registration as a Psychologist or registered Counsel.
