Sales Executive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Purpose<\/p>\n<p>\tTo drive profitable sales growth through overall management of the Vector Sales Team- consisting of sales and merchandising &#8211; focused on selling across all the company\u2019s principals and customers.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Strategic Operations Planning<\/p>\n<p>\tParticipate in the strategic decision-making processes of the organization as a member of the executive management team.<br \/>\n\tDevelop the strategic direction for Vector Trade Marketing and drive the implementation and achievement of the set strategy.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and maintain an appropriate Vector Trade Marketing structure that supports the agreed strategy, customer contracts and meets the changing\/evolving needs of the organisation.<br \/>\n\tManage and develop strategic relationships with principals and customers.<\/p>\n<p>Strategy Execution<\/p>\n<p>\tWork in conjunction with the COO and CGO to create a national sales strategy, based on a 3 to 5 year view of requirements.<br \/>\n\tDetermine operational capacity required across both the medium and the long term and plan required resourcing and technology requirements accordingly.<br \/>\n\tWork closely with national cross-functional management teams to ensure the delivery of an integrated supply chain benefit.<br \/>\n\tDrive the adherence to appropriate performance metrics across Vector Trade Marketing and the Call Centre.<br \/>\n\tSuggest improvements to the annual functional strategic plan and manage the co-creation of VSS\u2019s contribution to the plan.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the agreed strategy is implemented through team targets and that these targets align cross functionally within area of responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Operational Planning<\/p>\n<p>\tProvide the overall management and set the strategic direction for Vector Trade Marketing.<br \/>\n\tFocus management towards the goal of yielding profitable revenue growth for the company.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and maintain strategic sales relationships and alliances with partners to develop sales opportunities.<br \/>\n\tCoordinate the development of sales promotions and lead generation activities.<br \/>\n\tMaximise route to market opportunities and optimise shelf health, increase sales, grow market share and ensuring brand activation.<br \/>\n\tManage and incentivise the national sales force efficiencies through the implementation and management of a scorecard system.<br \/>\n\tManage national field sales activities relating to strategic data collection and market intelligence.<br \/>\n\tDevelop the strategy with senior sales managers for operational standards in:<br \/>\n\teffective sales administration<br \/>\n\trelationship building<br \/>\n\timplementation of promotion grids<br \/>\n\tcommunicating promotional activities to field sales force<br \/>\n\tensuring forward share is reflected on shelf as per market share<br \/>\n\tensuring market share is reflected in the categories<br \/>\n\tensuring shelf health is implemented, maintained and measured<br \/>\n\tcommunicating sales targets to the field force<br \/>\n\tincreasing sales volumes in stores<br \/>\n\tensuring cross merchandising<br \/>\n\tmonitoring in-store pricing<br \/>\n\tensuring out of stocks are limited<br \/>\n\tdriving ad hoc promotions to increase sales<br \/>\n\tcompiling trade visit reports<br \/>\n\tcompiling monthly reports by regional\/area sales managers<br \/>\n\tconducting review meetings with clients<br \/>\n\tmonitoring stocks in depots<br \/>\n\tmanaging rewards and remuneration<br \/>\n\tmonitoring and controlling fuel, cell and motor vehicle expenses<br \/>\n\tmonitoring and controlling overtime.<\/p>\n<p>Sales Innovation<\/p>\n<p>\tIdentify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of resources within the operation.<br \/>\n\tIdentify and research emerging cutting-edge sales and call centre practices, systems, equipment, and technologies to be introduced within the company.<br \/>\n\tKeep current with trends and issues in the industry, including current industry best practices and innovations.<br \/>\n\tReview and approve major contracts for Vector Trade Marketing services and equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Cost and Budget Management<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop the annual operating and capital budgets for the Vector Trade Marketing and Call Centre operations.<br \/>\n\tApprove, coordinate and control all projects related to these operations.<br \/>\n\tEvaluate operational alternatives, perform appropriate cost benefit analysis, and implement solutions that maximize effectiveness and minimise costs.<\/p>\n<p>Leadership<\/p>\n<p>\tLead the sales team towards meeting strategy and targets \u2013 through regular communication and utilisation of full organisational talent management tool set.<br \/>\n\tManage and deliver on succession plans to enable the development of a future generation of leaders and specialists and ensure optimal turnover and retention levels are maintained.<br \/>\n\tDrives Employment Equity within the sales team to ensure that diversity is achieved at all levels and that statutory targets and requirements are met.<br \/>\n\tChampions training and development of Sales team utilising available training opportunities or contributing to the development of new training solutions in collaboration with regional and national training specialists.<br \/>\n\tConduct regular performance appraisals with subordinates and ensure that the process is cascaded throughout the regional teams.<br \/>\n\tDevelops and manage high performance multi-disciplinary teams in order to solve problems within Sales.<br \/>\n\tConducts regular meetings and ensure that records are kept and shared across the team and that action plans agreed to within team meetings are delivered upon.<br \/>\n\tManage overall employee relations climate with sales and ensure corrective action is taken where required in line with relevant legislation and company policy.<br \/>\n\tManaging the recruitment and selection of staff in conjunction with HR.<\/p>\n<p>KPI\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>\tAchievement of strategic targets.<br \/>\n\tPerformance against agreed metrics.<br \/>\n\tMaximisation of route to market opportunities.<br \/>\n\tOptimisation of postgraduate or master&#8217;s degree highly advantageous.<br \/>\n\tA minimum of 10 years of successful sales management experience at a senior \/ executive level within the FMCG sales industry.<br \/>\n\tProven track record in managing large workforce compliments.<br \/>\n\tTrack record of success working with customers senior executives.<br \/>\n\tValid code EB drivers&#8217;
