RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<p>Teaching<\/p>\n<p>\tTeach students according to their educational needs, including the personalized planning and marking of work to be carried out by each student in accordance with school policy.<br \/>\n\tSet appropriate, realistic yet demanding expectations for each student&#8217;s learning, building on their prior attainment\/knowledge.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that the seven traits are reflected in the learning experience of students.<br \/>\n\tAssess, record, and report on the attendance, progress, development, and attainment of students and to keep such records as are required.<br \/>\n\tEnsure a high-quality learning experience for students that meets internal and external quality standards.<br \/>\n\tUse a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning appropriate to the student&#8217;s needs and demands of the syllabus.<br \/>\n\tTrack student progress and use information to inform teaching and learning.<br \/>\n\tMaintain discipline in accordance with the school\u2019s procedures, and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, appearance, and standards of work.<\/p>\n<p>Planning and preparation<\/p>\n<p>\tAssist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, and teaching strategies in the curriculum area and department.<br \/>\n\tContribute to the curriculum area and department\u2019s development plan and its implementation.<br \/>\n\tPlan and prepare carefully differentiated courses, lessons, and resources that follow the school\u2019s approach to curriculum design and implementation.<br \/>\n\tContribute to the whole school\u2019s planning activities.<br \/>\n\tAssist the Head of Mathematics and Director of Teaching and Learning in ensuring that the curriculum area provides a range of teaching that complements the school\u2019s strategic objectives.<br \/>\n\tAssist in the process of curriculum development and change so as to ensure the continued relevance to the needs of students, examining and awarding bodies, and the school\u2019s mission and strategic objectives.<br \/>\n\tCo-Curricular activities<br \/>\n\tLead one co-curricular activity to support the holistic development of students.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tStudent success\/advisory<br \/>\n\tYou may serve as a faculty advisor for up to 12 students as they navigate the transformative journey of academic, personal, and social growth. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In this role, you will be expected to:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tPromote the general progress and well-being of all students, but particularly those within the designated Advisory Group.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tLiaise with the Student Success Team and Heads of Year to ensure the implementation of the school\u2019s student support system.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEvaluate and monitor the progress of students and keep up-to-date student records as may be required.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tContribute to the preparation of individual education plans, progress files, and other reports.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tAlert the appropriate staff to problems experienced by students and make recommendations as to how these may be resolved.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tApply the school\u2019s behaviour management and safeguarding systems effectively and accurately.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tCommunicate effectively with the parents of students as appropriate.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tWhere appropriate, communicate and cooperate with persons or bodies outside the school.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tFollow agreed policies for communications in the school.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tTake part in community activities, including, but not limited to, parents\u2019 conferences, open days, and parental workshops.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tStaff development and growth<br \/>\n\tEnsure continual professional development through the identification and implementation of your own Personal Development Plan\u00a0<br \/>\n\tTake part in the school\u2019s staff development programme by participating in arrangements for further training and professional development.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tContinue your own professional development in the relevant areas, including subject knowledge, teaching methods, and curriculum-based training provided by examination boards.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEngage actively in the performance management review process.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tContribute to the process of monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum area\/department in line with agreed school procedures, including evaluation against quality standards and performance criteria. \u00a0<br \/>\n\tTo seek\/implement modification and improvement where required.<\/p>\n<p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA<\/p>\n<p>\tRequired Education and Experience:\u00a0<br \/>\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree.<br \/>\n\tQualification in education.<br \/>\n\tMinimum 3 years of teaching experience.<br \/>\n\tRequired experience in the Cambridge curriculum or equivalent.<br \/>\n\tExperience in international education.<br \/>\n\tPrevious experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.<\/p>\n<p>COMPETENCIES:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Technical competencies:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tMust be SACE accredited.<br \/>\n\tProven track record in teaching Cambridge.<br \/>\n\tSafeguarding, child protection, and compliance experience.<br \/>\n\tKnowledge of the rapidly changing sector internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Generic Competencies<\/p>\n<p>\tA clear understanding of the needs of older teenagers and their developmental stages.<br \/>\n\tAbility to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of older teenagers.<br \/>\n\tALA is academically rigorous.
