This role is responsible for driving customer engagement and incremental revenue by leveraging deep customer insights, fostering innovation, and ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration. As a key leader in the CVM team, the Principal Commercial Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing Cell C\u2019s customer value delivery and strengthening its competitive position in the market.<br \/>\n\tThis role will be supported by a cross-functional team of data scientists, commercial data analysts, marketing technology experts and product development managers to bring your creations to market.<br \/>\n\tYour work will shape how we think about our customers, our ability to identify and satisfy their needs and deliver compelling offerings that creates mutual benefit, at scale. This is a highly impactful role where you will directly impact how millions of Cell C customers engage with our offerings daily.<\/p>\n<p>Main Responsibilities:<br \/>\nProduct Strategy formation and implementation<\/p>\n<p>\tDefine, formulate and implement the personalised product strategy and roadmap through your specialized expertise and insight to ensure that the strategy meets business objectives<br \/>\n\tDefine the framework and metrics to measure the impact of the applicable CVM product offerings and ensure they are consistently monitored<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with cross functional teams to ensure you build relevant solutions for our customer base<br \/>\n\tExecute the CVM strategy to maximize customer impact, drive behavioural change, and deliver measurable business value through the product portfolio<br \/>\n\tAlign product strategy with broader commercial and digital transformation goals<br \/>\n\tMonitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic adjustments<\/p>\n<p>Product and Solution Development<\/p>\n<p>\tProactively identify customer needs and opportunities and deliver compelling offerings that creates value at scale.<br \/>\n\tEvaluate the feasibility and relevance of proposed complex products and services<br \/>\n\tCommission and interpret ad hoc analyses on base activity, spend and usage patterns<br \/>\n\tApply first principles thinking and advanced analytics to derive actionable insights and optimize product performance<br \/>\n\tDetermine pricing, optimal price curves and run gap analyses for below-the-line offer portfolios<br \/>\n\tLeverage the impact of machine learning and valuation algorithms within the portfolio<br \/>\n\tSystems based thinking to construct optimal product ecosystems within the marketing tech stack<br \/>\n\tIncorporate customer feedback loops into the product development lifecycle<br \/>\n\tLead experimentation (e.g., A\/B testing) to validate new features or pricing models before full-scale rollout<\/p>\n<p>Business planning<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop annual and long-term business plans, including forecasting against key performance indicators (KPIs) and aligning with divisional and corporate objectives<br \/>\n\tContribute to and develop business cases for key activities\/projects and estimate the financial and development resources required to deliver performance targets<br \/>\n\tDevelop straight forward business cases or lead feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to support the development and contributions review of business cases<br \/>\n\tTrack and report on business plan execution, identifying risks and mitigation strategies<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with finance and strategy teams to ensure alignment with budget cycles and investment priorities<\/p>\n<p>Customer insights and analytics<\/p>\n<p>\tDefine and oversee the customer insight strategy to inform CVM initiatives and product development<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with analytics teams to extract actionable insights from customer behaviour, usage patterns, and lifecycle data<br \/>\n\tTranslate complex data into clear narratives and strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders<br \/>\n\tIdentify and monitor key customer segments, churn drivers, and value opportunities<br \/>\n\tIntegrate customer feedback and NPS data into proposition design and campaign refinement<\/p>\n<p>Cross functional leadership and Enablement<\/p>\n<p>\tLead cross-functional squads comprising data science, marketing, product, and technology to deliver CVM initiatives<br \/>\n\tFacilitate alignment between commercial goals and execution teams through structured planning and communication<br \/>\n\tChampion a collaborative culture that encourages knowledge sharing and joint problem-solving<br \/>\n\tResolve cross-departmental blockers and ensure accountability across delivery streams<br \/>\n\tRepresent the CVM function in strategic forums and cross-business initiatives<\/p>\n<p>Performance monitoring and optimization<\/p>\n<p>\tDefine KPIs and success metrics for CVM campaigns, propositions, and platforms<br \/>\n\tEstablish dashboards and reporting frameworks to track performance in real time<br \/>\n\tConduct regular performance reviews and post-implementation analyses to identify improvement areas<br \/>\n\tLead optimization efforts across pricing, targeting, and channel mix to maximize ROI<br \/>\n\tEnsure closed-loop feedback mechanisms are in place to refine future initiatives<\/p>\n<p>Innovation and change management<\/p>\n<p>\tDrive a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation, rapid prototyping, and test-and-learn approaches<br \/>\n\tIdentify emerging technologies and market trends that can enhance CVM capabilities<br \/>\n\tLead change management efforts for new tools, processes, or strategic shifts within the CVM function<br \/>\n\tEngage stakeholders across the business to build buy-in for innovation initiatives<\/p>\n<p>People and Team Leadership<\/p>\n<p>\tTrack and report on the impact of innovation projects on cLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing CVM team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning<br \/>\n\tSet clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews to support individual and team growth<br \/>\n\tAlign team capabilities with strategic priorities, ensuring the right skills and resources are in place to deliver on business goals<br \/>\n\tPromote collaboration across departments and create an inclusive, empowering work environment<br \/>\n\tManage workload distribution, succession planning, and talent development within the CVM function customer engagement and business outcomes<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Qualification<\/p>\n<p>\tA 3-year degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Science, Engineering, Marketing or any related field<br \/>\n\tPost graduate studies are advantageous<\/p>\n<p>Experience<\/p>\n<p>\t5 to 8 years of experience in a commercially focussed role in either Retail Banking, Financial Services, Telecoms, E-commerce or similar experience building brand new products or working in a start-up environment<br \/>\n\tExperience working with personalised marketing technology<br \/>\n\tTrack record of delivering results through complex mass market
