Principle responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tSupport the calculation of US GAAP and IFRS reserves for the AIG entities in Africa
\n\tWorking closely with both the HAFs for AIG Life South Africa and AIG South Africa entities, to ensure that all regulatory and actuarial requirements are met
\n\tAnalytical work including data extraction, data transformation and database management
\n\tDeliver annual and quarterly annual actuarial reserving studies
\n\tSupport the budgeting process and business partnering by providing ultimate loss ratios by accident year from the reserve study to the business
\n\tSupport the bridging initiative between Finance and Pricing Actuarial teams to ensure alignment of views on ultimate losses across functions
\n\tSupport the development of processes, procedures and metrics to enable the businesses to comply with Pillar II of SAM.
\n\tSupport the calculation of the SAM Technical Provisions.
\n\tAssist in model validation of Standard Model for SCR and MCR calculations and provide technical support for the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment
\n\tSupport the development of procedures to produce, document and report opinions on the adequacy of reinsurance arrangements and align\/implement a reinsurance strategy in line with SAM requirements
\n\tGeneration of reports to monitor and communicate business performance
\n\tAssistance in the redevelopment and testing of the IT systems
\n\tSupport the deliverables and engagement for the annual year-end audit
\n\tSupport in any project or ad-hoc requirements as needed<\/p>\n
What we\u2019re looking for:<\/p>\n
\tDegree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related areas required
\n\tRelevant insurance experience
\n\tMember of an Actuarial Institution making good progress through exams
\n\tProven proficiency in actuarial concepts\/methodologies
\n\tExcellent analytical, quantitative, and communication skills
\n\tGood technical software knowledge such as SQL, and\/or Python.
\n\tTeam Player with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
\n\tAbility to navigate through complexity.
\n\tCritical thinking & execution skills<\/p>\n
