\n\tRisk Management and Mitigation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Research, Development, and Innovation<\/p>\n
The Researcher is responsible for conducting research, development and supporting innovation, these include:<\/p>\n
\tInvention.
\n\tTranslation.
\n\tCommercialization.
\n\tAdoption and Use.<\/p>\n
Research Collaboration<\/p>\n
The Researcher is responsible for supporting and establishing strategic research collaboration and identifying collaboration opportunities; these include:<\/p>\n
\tStrategic Research partnerships \/ networks.
\n\tIntra-Inter Institutional Collaboration.
\n\tNational Collaboration<\/p>\n
Human Capacity Development<\/p>\n
The Researcher is responsible for supporting Human Capacity Development that includes:<\/p>\n
\tSupervision\/ co-supervision of students.
\n\tMentoring staff and students.
\n\tTraining staff and students to develop skills in analytical chemistry
\n\tSelf-development.<\/p>\n
Income generation<\/p>\n
The Researcher is responsible for generating income by:<\/p>\n
\tWriting research proposals and securing funding.
\n\tDeveloping and validating new methods for providing additional services.
\n\tOffering analytical services to clients (internal and external) through analysis of samples using advanced analytical equipment.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tPhD in Plant Physiology, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Production, Botany, Horticulture or closely related fields.
\n\tAt least 3 years\u2019 experience in plant tissue culture- related research.
\n\tMinimum of 3\u20135 peer-reviewed publications.
\n\tProven record of writing proposals.
\n\tProven record for generating external income.
\n\tProven record of participating as a speaker at conferences.
\n\tProven record for initiation, planning and execution of research projects, personnel management and financial management of projects.
\n\tProven track record of mentoring and\/or supervising\/co-supervising students.
\n\tRecord of national and\/or international partnerships and\/or networks.
\n\tRegistration with a scientific and\/or professional body will be an added advantage.
\n\tNRF rating is also considered an added advantage.
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n
