\tOur client in the FMCG and Food Production industry is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join their company. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing HR administrative processes, and ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
\n\tThis position requires an individual with strong accounting knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and experience in handling multiple financial and administrative functions in a fast-paced production environment.<\/p>\n
Job Purpose:<\/p>\n
\tTo ensure accurate financial recordkeeping, effective HR administration, and compliant debtor and creditor management in support of operational and regulatory efficiency.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS
\nMinimum education (essential):<\/p>\n
\tDiploma in Bookkeeping<\/p>\n
Minimum education (desirable):<\/p>\n
\tBCom in Accounting\u00a0<\/p>\n
Minimum applicable experience (years):<\/p>\n
\t3 – 5 years\u2019 experience within the FMCG or Manufacturing environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tCreditors and debtors management
\n\tBank reconciliations
\n\tSkills Development Levy administration
\n\tCIODA (ROE) submissions
\n\tCIPC submissions<\/p>\n

\tSage 200 Evolution Explorer
\n\tSARS eFiling (VAT, PAYE, UIF, and Income Tax submissions)
\n\tSARS EasyFile
\n\tMicrosoft Suite
\n\tTax compliance
\n\tLabour Law<\/p>\n

\tProficient in Afrikaans and English
\n\tOwn transport and valid driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
\nFinancial Recordkeeping & Reconciliations.<\/p>\n
\tCapture supplier invoices accurately and allocate to the correct GL accounts.
\n\tAssist with GRVs and RTSs as needed.
\n\tProcess customer credit notes timeously and accurately.
\n\tSubmit supplier credit applications and maintain supplier documentation.
\n\tPerform monthly supplier and customer reconciliations to ensure alignment with statements and remittances.
\n\tCapture and reconcile all bank transactions and maintain a proper filing system.
\n\tPrepare and provide required documentation to auditors during year-end.<\/p>\n
Debtors & Creditors Management<\/p>\n
\tMaintain and reconcile petty cash transactions.
\n\tMaintain the General Ledger and resolve any discrepancies.
\n\tProcess month-end journals including depreciation, interest, and salaries.
\n\tGenerate and distribute debtor statements and follow up on outstanding payments.
\n\tResolve payment queries with customers by providing supporting documentation.
\n\tProcess supplier invoices, reconcile accounts, and prepare timely payments.
\n\tLiaise with suppliers and customers regarding financial queries in a professional manner.<\/p>\n
HR Administration<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with tax and labour legislation.
\n\tDisplay updated labour law posters across company sites.
\n\tSupport HR compliance activities such as labour audits, tax clearance certificates, and skills development submissions.
\n\tSubmit ROE filings accurately and timeously.
\n\tAssist in drafting and maintaining HR-related documents and records.<\/p>\n
Bank Management<\/p>\n
\tLoad and manage supplier payments as scheduled.
\n\tDistribute payment notifications and proof of payments.
\n\tSet up and maintain new bank beneficiaries.
\n\tManage and reconcile internal transfers between accounts.<\/p>\n
Taxation & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tSubmit VAT returns and ensure payments are made by the required deadlines.
\n\tSubmit provisional tax returns and payments biannually.
\n\tProcess annual IRP5s via SARS EasyFile.
\n\tAddress all SARS correspondence promptly and ensure ongoing tax compliance.<\/p>\n
