\tAn established manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging solutions, serving major FMCG and industrial brands across SA is seeking an experienced\u00a0Production Manager\u00a0to join their team.
\n\tReporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will lead the production function, driving operational efficiency, cost control, and quality standards in a fast-paced FMCG environment.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tLead and manage the production team to achieve performance and efficiency targets (minimum 85% efficiency).
\n\tMaintain waste levels below 1.4% and ensure optimal material and master batch usage.
\n\tEnsure preventative maintenance schedules are met and critical spares are always available.
\n\tContinuously improve cycle times, productivity, and product quality.
\n\tMaintain customer satisfaction through zero justified complaints and prompt resolution of issues.
\n\tEnsure full compliance with food safety, quality, and OHS requirements.
\n\tDevelop and manage the production budget in collaboration with Operations and Finance.
\n\tDrive training, skills development, and succession planning within the department.
\n\tEnsure adherence to HR and IR policies while maintaining high employee engagement and retention.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBSc\/BEng Degree\u00a0in\u00a0Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering\u00a0(preferred).
\n\tMinimum\u00a010 years’ experience\u00a0in a production\/manufacturing environment, with at least\u00a05 years at management level.
\n\tFMCG manufacturing experience required (plastic or packaging advantageous).
\n\tStrong leadership and people management skills.
\n\tProven ability to manage budgets, interpret data, and drive continuous improvement.
\n\tExcellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
\n\tAbility to perform under pressure in a high-performance environment.<\/p>\n
