PURPOSE AND ROLE IN THE BUSINESS:<\/p>\n
\tApplications are invited from suitable qualified applicants who will be required to perform duties in Fire, Rescue & Emergency Medical Services as stipulated below.<\/p>\n
KEY RESULT AREAS:<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be required to:<\/p>\n
\tService, maintenance and record keeping of fire extinguishers, hose reels and hydrants.
\n\tService, maintenance, stock and record keeping of first-aid equipment.
\n\tRespond to all fire, hazmat, rescue, accident and medical\/trauma emergencies.
\n\tTreatment of medical or trauma patient\/s according to protocol and transfer patient to Hospital.
\n\tEnsure safe keeping and cleanliness of vehicles, equipment and Fire, Rescue & EMS Services Station.
\n\tEnsure that Emergency vehicles and equipment are in good working order.
\n\tUndertake any other duties as allocated by Station\/Fire Officer.
\n\tReport all losses, damages, discrepancies and deficiencies to Station\/Fire Officer.
\n\tAbide by the Mine standard operational policies, procedures and Code of Practices.
\n\tConduct general administrative work.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\u00a0(Education & Experience)<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 certificate
\n\tCode EC (code 14) Driver\u2019s License.
\n\tProfessional Driving Permit (PDP) \u2013 current active.
\n\tFire Fighter 1 & HAZMAT Awareness.
\n\tFire Fighter 2 & HAZMAT Operational.
\n\tBasic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) \u2013 Basic Life Support Practitioner.
\n\tProof of registration (card) with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as BAA (current active) and CPD compliant (HPCSA letter as proof needed)
\n\t1-2 years active operational experience in Fire & Rescue Services and\/or Emergency Medical Services.
\n\tSuccessfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) on Mine.<\/p>\n
SKILLS\/ COMPETENCIES:<\/p>\n
\tCommunication skills – written, verbal and listening.<\/p>\n
The following qualifications will be advantages:<\/p>\n
\tFire Search & Rescue, Light Motor Vehicle Rescue, High Angle 1 Rescue, Pump Operator, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus.
\n\tAmbulance Emergency Assistant (AEA) \u2013 Intermediate Life Support Practitioner (HPCSA current active)
\n\tProto Team member for Underground (active)
\n\tComputer Literacy \u2013 MS Office Suite (Word\/Excel\/Power Point\/Outlook).<\/p>\n
