MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\tB-Tech\/Degree in Mining Engineering
\n\tMine Manager\u2019s Certificate of Competence.
\n\tCode 08 (B) Driver\u2019s Licence.
\n\tProfessional Memberships and Affiliations: AMMSA (Association of Mine Managers of SA).<\/p>\n
\u00a0EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):<\/p>\n
\t8 – 10 years Plant \/ Production operations experience including 3 years management experience.<\/p>\n
DUTIES (including but not limited to):<\/p>\n
\tEnsure the production team produce the right quality and quantity of Product in a safe and cost effective manner and co-ordinating resources to meet targets.<\/p>\n
Financial Perspective:<\/p>\n
\tDrafts and allocate the budget in the Department as well as authorising annual departmental budget, Operational, capex and labour.
\n\tEffectively manage function\/ department and its objectives in line with legislative requirements, administer approved budgets (operational, capex and labour), report variances as required and recommend \/ implement remedial action within span of control.
\n\tReview and authorize payments in line with approved budget and policy and submit for final processing.<\/p>\n
Internal Business Processes \/ Technical Perspective:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure the mining team have the proper skills to execute the job so that production is not compromised.
\n\tIdentifying skills gaps and areas of improvement mine wide.
\n\tEnsure collaborations between Departments.
\n\tOpen communication channels to avoid misinformation.
\n\tDevelop and review plans and systems to achieve and improve mining KPI’s.
\n\tReview and regulate the commitment of resources to optimize efficiency of resources and to optimize mining operations.
\n\tIdentify and coordinate development of new technology and the application of best practice methodology.
\n\tAnalyze process and asset performance trends against targets, conduct root cause analysis and liaison across interfaces in managing constraints and corrective actions.
\n\tAs technical process owner and leader, develop, maintain and improve the Mining Production and Enterprise Asset Management Systems and Processes in keeping with industry best practices.
\n\tCompile strategic objectives, setting of achievable departmental targets.
\n\tManage the production processes to ensure optimised production and achievement of targets.
\n\tEnsure timely delivery of in-spec products that meet quality and customer standards.
\n\tCompile productions plans that are aligned with operation strategy and manage approved plans to ensure targets are met, take remedial action where necessary.
\n\tEnsure optimised plant \/ underground operation efficiencies are adhered to.<\/p>\n
Customer \/ Stakeholder Relations Perspective<\/p>\n
\tBuild, manage and maintain healthy diverse workable internal relations (Peer, Unions, Team, Organisation) and implement remedial actions where required.
\n\tBuild, manage and maintain Healthy external relations (Head Office, communities, government, etc.) to assist in achievement of organizational goals.
\n\tMaintain internal and external relations to ensure functional\/departmental needs are met and employees are satisfied.<\/p>\n
Organisational & Growth Perspective<\/p>\n
\tAuthorise and lead the development and implementation of Operational continuous improvement initiatives, standards, codes, guidelines, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and capitalise on opportunities.
\n\tMonitor and reward shop-floor improvement mini-projects.
\n\tEnsure the efficient and effective management of interfaces which impacts or could potentially impact on production objectives, including maintenance.<\/p>\n
SHERQ Adherence \/ Compliance<\/p>\n
\tTranslate SHERQ goals applicable as derived from business plan into clear direction and implement effectively and efficiently for specific function.
\n\tEnsure adherence to statutory safety regulations and mine standards, procedures, and practices such as PPE, safe working practices, handling of explosives, re-entering periods.
\n\tEffectively communicate new regulations and procedures as and when required to ensure employees and contractor awareness and correct implementation thereof.
\n\tAssist in rendering of appropriate first aid to injured person(s) as and when required or refer to qualified persons.<\/p>\n
Implement Change Initiatives<\/p>\n
\tAuthorise and drive initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improve productivity and reduce operating costs.
\n\tInitiate and lead Functional\/ Departmental change.
\n\tImplement successful change initiatives, plan, and ensure optimal resource utilisation within designated area.<\/p>\n
Statutory Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with legislation by setting and achieving procurement targets in terms of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment and Mining Charter requirements.
\n\tDevelop and implement procurement policies that will aid in the achievement of procurement targets and statutory compliance.<\/p>\n
