Role Purpose:<\/p>\n
\tThe Intermediate Systems Software Engineer provides functional support and analysis across a suite of software systems\u2014including bespoke, COTS, and highly customized applications\u2014within an operational environment. This role bridges the gap between end users, technical teams, and vendors to ensure business continuity, system stability, and alignment between software functionality and operational needs.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:
\nFunctional Support & Issue Resolution<\/p>\n
\tProvide Level 1 & 2 functional support for operational software systems.
\n\tAct as a liaison between users, technical teams, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
\n\tValidate and resolve user-reported problems, escalating when necessary.<\/p>\n
System Analysis & Documentation<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse business processes to ensure optimal system configuration and usage.
\n\tDocument system functionality, SOPs, user guides, and known issues.
\n\tMaintain configuration records, integrations, and SQL job schedules to support process optimization.<\/p>\n
Change & Release Management<\/p>\n
\tAssist in testing and validating new software releases, patches, and enhancements.
\n\tParticipate in change control processes to ensure stable deployments.
\n\tPresent proposed changes and obtain approval through the change advisory process.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with operational teams to gather and understand functional requirements.
\n\tProvide user training and promote best practices for system usage.<\/p>\n
Monitoring & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tMonitor key systems for availability, performance, and user adoption.
\n\tGenerate usage and issue-tracking reports and dashboards.
\n\tTrack and manage service downtime to ensure high system availability.<\/p>\n
Integration Support<\/p>\n
\tSupport data integrity and functional flow across integrated systems.
\n\tCollaborate with integration specialists to maintain interface accuracy and stability.<\/p>\n
License & Access Management<\/p>\n
\tManage user profiles, privileges, and licensing access.
\n\tMonitor and report on license utilization.<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications & Experience:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s Degree or Diploma in Computer Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
\n\t3\u20135 years\u2019 experience in a software or systems support role, preferably in an industrial or operational environment.<\/p>\n
