\tThe Analyst: FP&A is responsible for supporting financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis processes for an assigned portfolio by delivering reliable data, preparing reports, and providing foundational insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.<\/p>\n
FUNCTIONS \/ RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Strategic Business Partnership<\/p>\n
\tProvide analytical support to enable financial insights for strategic business reviews and operational decision-making.
\n\tAssist in translating commercial trends into financial implications.
\n\tPrepare standardised reporting packs and dashboards for performance reviews.
\n\tMonitor key financial KPIs and surface early signals or anomalies with supporting commentary.<\/p>\n
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) <\/p>\n
\tPrepare first-cut inputs for monthly rolling forecasts, annual budgeting cycles, and long-term financial planning.
\n\tBuild and update basic to moderately complex financial models and scenario analyses for portfolio areas.
\n\tConduct trend analysis, variance investigations, and forecast accuracy reporting.<\/p>\n
P&L Ownership and Performance Management <\/p>\n
\tPopulate and validate financial performance templates for assigned P&L lines.
\n\tSupport cost centre reviews with line managers and functional leads.
\n\tTrack key revenue and cost drivers impacting portfolio performance.
\n\tRaise flags on potential variances, risks, or anomalies to the Manager\/Senior Manager.<\/p>\n
Gross Margin Enhancements<\/p>\n
\tMonitor pricing, discounting, and cost trends to support margin analysis.
\n\tAssist in evaluating the impact of category mix, supplier income, and markdowns on gross margin.
\n\tPrepare input for gross margin tracking dashboards or reports.<\/p>\n
Business Innovation and Format Testing<\/p>\n
\tCapture baseline metrics and financial indicators before innovation pilots or format tests are launched.
\n\tPrepare early-stage ROI assessments or financial feasibility summaries for manager validation.
\n\tTrack test performance and support post-implementation financial reviews.<\/p>\n
Cost Improvement and Efficiency<\/p>\n
\tIdentify and monitor baseline costs across key expense lines.
\n\tSupport cost benchmarking and cost-to-serve analysis.
\n\tTrack progress against identified savings opportunities.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n
\tLiaise with portfolio-specific teams to collect planning and performance inputs.
\n\tRespond to data, report, and insight requests in a timely and professional manner.
\n\tEnsure financial insights are tailored to each stakeholder’s level of understanding<\/p>\n
Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications & Experience required for this position<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Finance \/ Economics\/ Accounting related qualification.
\n\tHonours degree in Finance \/ Economics\/ Accounting related qualification preferred.<\/p>\n
Experience: <\/p>\n
\t3+years FP&A\/ management reporting\/ financial modelling\/ finance business partnering preferably with some exposure to financial planning and analysis.
\n\tExperience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud) advantageous.<\/p>\n
Competencies & Skills<\/p>\n
\tStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas).
\n\tUnderstanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
\n\tAbility to build basic financial models.
\n\tFamiliar with budget, forecast, and financial consolidation processes.
\n\tAble to interpret financial data and identify key trends.
\n\tHigh accuracy and quality in reporting and calculations.
\n\tClear, concise communication of financial data.
\n\tAble to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
