We are looking for:<\/p>\n
\tCredit Application Clerk is responsible for processing and reviewing credit applications from new and existing customers, ensuring that all required documentation is complete and accurate. This role involves data entry, credit checks, and coordination with internal departments to support efficient credit approval processes.<\/p>\n
Knowledge and abilities:<\/p>\n
\tStrong attention to detail and accuracy.
\n\tGood organizational and time-management skills.
\n\tExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
\n\tProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
\n\tFamiliarity with credit scoring systems and financial documentation is a plus.
\n\tAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tReview incoming credit applications for completeness and accuracy.
\n\tEnter customer and application data into credit management systems.
\n\tConduct credit checks using third-party agencies or internal credit scoring tools.
\n\tVerify trade references and financial documents as part of the credit assessment process.
\n\tCommunicate with customers to request missing information or clarify discrepancies.
\n\tMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit applications and related correspondence.
\n\tAssist in evaluating customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits.
\n\tWork closely with Sales and Finance teams to facilitate smooth onboarding of new customers.
\n\tEnsure compliance with internal credit policies and procedures.
\n\tGenerate routine reports on credit applications and status updates.<\/p>\n
Boxes to tick:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
\n\t1\u20132 years of experience in a credit, administrative, or finance-related role.
\n\tTertiary qualification in business, finance, or related field would be advantageous.
